WHEN I MOVED from Blogger to WordPress in November, all my archived blog posts were supposed to come with me. The process didn’t work and only one-third of my 1,800-plus posts made the move.
Yesterday, WordPress gave me a plug-in to move the rest. Although it worked, it sometimes worked in duplicate or triplicate. I ended up with more than 2,700 posts that I then had to clean up.
WORST OF ALL, however, my email subscribers apparently received notification of every single blog post. More than 2,000* individual emails.
If you’re one of those unlucky readers, I am SO sorry. (Can’t you tell by the look on my face?)
*A good friend informed me it was only 1,768.
Cuando me mudé de Blogger a WordPress en noviembre, se suponía que todos mis archivos iban conmigo. El proceso no funcionó y solo un tercio de mis más de 1,800 entradas hicieron el cambio.
Ayer, WordPress me dio un “plug-in” para mover el resto. Aunque funcionó, a veces funcionó por duplicado o por triplicado. Terminé con más de 2,400 mensajes que luego tuve que limpiar.
LO PEOR DE todo, sin embargo, mis suscriptores de correo electrónico aparentemente recibieron una notificación de cada blog. Más de 2.000 correos electrónicos individuales.
Si eres uno de esos lectores desafortunados, lo siento mucho. (¿No puedes decirlo por la mirada en mi cara?)

Oh my heavens! Fortunately, for me, I don’t subscribe by email, I just go to your blog directly. That’s a heck of a lot of notifications! LOL LOL LOL! (Easy for mr to say 😉

I was one of the 21. We had a good chuckle when we saw ALL those notifications from you!!! lol
I did get a chance to pick a few random ones from back in 2012 and enjoyed reading them.

I don’t subscribe either. I have you in my favorites thingy but most of the time I just jump from Bob’s sidebar (or whatever it’s called). You were an adorable baby.

Wasn’t I adorable. I mentioned somewhere else that my mother used to sing, “You must have been a beautiful baby BUT, baby, look at you now.”
I was confused when I read this. I thought did she mean but with two tees? I had to look up the lyrics. The word should’ve been ’cause! I’ve been singing it wrong for years!

You crack me up. I, too, thought that (“but”) was the correct word until I watched it on some old-time cartoon when I was around 11 or 12. I’m sorry you didn’t see that cartoon.
Yikes! Luckily, I don’t subscribe by email. I use my reading list in Blogger, which loads up a link to each new post for the blogs I follow. But it has its own foibles – sometimes I get links to a series of old posts if someone has done updating similar to what you did. But you win the prize with the number of emails you generated! You overachiever, you.

I’ve had the same experience as you with receiving old posts. I never thought I’d be on the sending end. I wonder if I could get into Guinness Book of World Records. (Nah, not a chance.)
I plan to say with blogger unless they really do something way outlandish. It seems to be the best platform for me, with ease and use of the features. I have a WordPress ready to go for down the road in case blogger would get funny. But I find the dashboard of WordPress not as user friendly, when I did one post. I go directly to the blog too.

No service is perfect and you’re right about Blogger being easier to use, but I am starting to get comfortable with WordPress and am liking it more… except for when 2,000 emails get sent in my name (although WordPress claims it was a problem with the file generated by Blogger… which does make sense). Anyway, I’m paying for the service from WordPress and, unlike Blogger, they provide direct help and that’s making a huge difference for me.
OMG we use wordpress for our business blog and just had to move it to a new host, so glad that didn’t happen. I follow by my sidebar so I never got them – that truly sucks

This happened moving Blogger to WordPress and WordPress thinks it’s the result of the coding in the Blogger import file (which does make sense). I’m so glad I had so few email followers… and all remained calm (well, except one who I think had a panic attack, poor thing) and were so understanding!
