Our incredible housekeeper, Isabel, loves our cats and they love her. But I heard her today talking to Dudo and noted that she was calling him Dudu, so I repeated his actual name again. Dudo in Spanish comes from the verb “dudar” and means “I doubt.” He was named by the staff at the shelter — maybe because he never takes anyone’s word for anything.
Anyway, Isabel will always remember his name now that I’ve told her what dudu (doo-doo) means in English.
Nuestra increíble limpiadora, Isabel, ama a nuestros gatos y ellos la aman. Pero hoy la escuché hablar con Dudo y noté que ella lo llamaba Dudu, así que repetí su nombre real otra vez. Fue nombrado por el personal del refugio — tal vez porque nunca cree en la palabra de nadie para nada.
De todos modos, Isabel siempre recordará su nombre ahora que le he dicho que dudu (doo-doo) significa caca en inglés.

I always assumed “Dudo” was the Spanish version of “Dude.” You can tell I don’t have the first clue about Spanish.

That’s also what I assumed when I first heard his name. Your comments are no longer seen as spam, but for some reason comments at times appear immediately and at other times take a few minutes.
Dudo is his name, dudu’s what Dudo does, in a litter box I would assume. I don’t blame him about the rats. As a general rule, I like rats, but those up there give me the creeps! Dudo- such a handsome fella.
