I’VE BEEN DEALING recently with some advocacy issues for The Kid Brother that have caused me to lose sleep. It will all be worked out and he’s sleeping like a baby, which is all that matters.
Meanwhile, the temps here had dropped a bit. We’ve had some days with highs just barely reaching (60F) and nights as low as 8C (46F) I know. I know. I won’t get any sympathy. But, the top photo is of San Geraldo on a cold night last week. It did cause him to finally get out his long underwear. Unfortunately, he did so Friday when the temperatures had risen.
We went to Primavera for dinner and talked with handsome and stylish Fran about how surprised we were by the springlike weather. San Geraldo showed Fran his white socks and black long johns.
Fran said he was surprised, too. He exposed his ankle to display identical black long johns. How cool is San Geraldo?
No obtendré ninguna simpatía.
Ya gotta do what ya gotta do! What a cute photo!
In case you were wondering (lol), I have been wearing long underwear from October to May here on the ‘tundra’ since we got back from Vancouver in ’82!!
Jim:
Jerry has always been known to put on the long underwear as soon as temps drop to 60F! I might consider it if it gets below freezing.
White Socks!!?!! LOL
Liking the knitted beanie cap a lot!
Ron:
Yeah, I don’t get the white socks. I wear black socks with my black long underwear! But, since Fran did it, too, I guess it’s cool.
SG has always been cool.
Wilma:
He can get away with just about anything. Well, except for the day I made him go back in the house and change when he was wearing, a white V-neck T-shirt, grey hooded sweatshirt, too-short off-grey sweatpants. white socks, and brown leather shoes. There ARE limits!
sexy legs!
anne marie:
It did bug me, though, that neither of them thought to smooth out the underwear where it tucked into the socks!
Perhaps Fran could be persuaded to pose in just the long underwear?
Asking for a friend.
Bob:
I’ll ask… for your friend.
I like my Calzone filled with ricotta. As for long johns, don’t have any – thought I wouldn’t need them here in NM.
Frank:
I kept one pair of silk long johns for when we travel to places like Norway… or New York in winter (just in case). I spent one winter there while my mother was in hospital and was so glad I brought them. That was the year there were ice floes in the Atlantic Ocean in Brooklyn.
Now that’s not right to leave Fran in the restaurant like that. I thought you needed cute house help dear?
Mistress Maddie:
He’s too busy being a fireman during the week to take time out for houseboy duties! Really!
I imagine Spain probably doesn’t get “cold” often.
Adam:
Our weather here in the south is very much like Southern California. However, like the US, Spain has varied climates. Many areas get freezing cold and lots of snow.
What a charming photo !
Urspo:
They’re both so cute… and photogenic.
You know, cold is cold, dammit! It has gotten into the mid thirties at night here. No snow, but cold is cold, dammit! I sleep with my window open under three blankets and a pajama top. I love fresh air, but, cold is cold dammit! SG has a very warming smile. I have really got to get over this inappropriate crush 🙂
Deedles:
it’s not an inappropriate crush! And you’re not the only one. It’s been the story of my life with him and, since arriving here in Fuengirola, he’s got a bevy of Spanish women who adore him. Dammit. We haven’t yet experienced freezing temps down here, although it has dropped to as low as 39F overnight (in Sevilla when we lived there). Jerry’s mother in South Dakota always slept with a window slightly open. Minus 50F, open window!
Bonding over long johns, eh? I hope everything turns out well with the advocacy issues you’re dealing with. You’re a good brother!
Debra:
The situation with my brother (financial) has been very frustrating because i NEVER want to feel indispensable to him and in this case, I don’t know what would have happened had I not been around. But, as I said, all that matters is that he’s not aware of the specifics AND he’s OK again.
Indeed NO sympathy for you Sir. I hope all goes well in resolving those issues in NYC for your Brother.
Laurent:
I’m practicing my skills at tact and diplomacy, while working through the problems! Another springlike day again today!
I’ve been wondering how your brother is doing. I’m glad he’s sleeping well, even if you’re not! I hope everything works out soon. You really ARE a great big brother.
Jennifer:
He’s been doing OK, but a financial issue (which I’m hoping isn’t theft) has caused challenges and I only just got to the crux (although not the specifics). We wired some money and he’s unaware of my suspicions or how angry I had gotten. AND he was able to go bowling yesterday, so all is well in his world.
He’s cool and warm at the same time! That’s talent. I wear the long johns on walks with the dog when the outside temperature is below 5ºC. Here it happens quite frequently.
Walt the Fourth:
I’d probably wear long johns on those walks, too. But not at 15C!
Fran will warm things up a bit, stay warm!
David:
Fran already did!
Ah muffin – 46F – 7C so you’re talking late spring weather right? I pull my long Johns out at -20C said he in a lumberjack like voice.
Willym:
At -20C, my lumberjack voice is gone!
Frankly at -20c you don’t open your mouth to speak in any voice.
Gorgeous Reading
Lars,
Thanks so much!
