A Striking Resemblance / Un Parecido Sorprendente

I CONTINUE TO go through old photos and came across images of my grandfather, my father, and myself. All taken on the beach. The photo of my grandfather was taken around 1921. My mother took the photo of my father in the summer of 1948. Both those photos were taken on Coney Island in Brooklyn. The one of me was at Oyster Bay, Long Island, in 1960. We had moved up in the world. Four years later, we were back at Coney Island. I know! It’s almost impossible to tell us apart. HINT: I’m the one in the baggy boxer shorts.

  1. Boy, you look so much like your father! I’m assuming he’s the one in the middle. I don’t know what color swim trunks he’s wearing, but in black and white, he looks like a nekkid Ken doll 🙂 You were such a cutie! You still are, by the way.

    1. Deedles,
I always look so happy in childhood photos. I wasn’t a happy kid. Must have been gas! I don’t know what color those trunks were either. But your description is perfect.

    1. Cheapchick,
Oh, you know what I look like now. Wouldn’t want to break the web with a swimsuit edition.

  2. Good to know where you come from! And these photos prove that! Good looking men/boy.
Not too SKINNY?! Suppose you got that a lot. I know I did….my sibs called me ‘Bag of Bones’ for years.

    1. Ron,
Although I was never really at home in Brooklyn, I did love being able to walk to the beach whenever I wanted from the age of 11 on. Will be back in Coney Island with Chuck in September! Maybe I should have him take a picture of me walking out of the water. I’m sure I have my father’s old bathing suit somewhere (no I don’t).

  3. Cute but no fair… we need that svelte young hunk that seduced a totally unawares San G???? Yah know what I’m saying fella?

    1. David,
My father was a really handsome man. I always wanted to look like him. I simply resemble him! Oh well.
