THE FENCING HAS been removed from around the new fountain in our newly named Plaza of Nations. I’m not quite sure why it’s called a fountain. Currently, the “construction” sits in a square pool of water. I check every day to see if water is coming out of the “globe” itself, but it hasn’t happened. And, unless the water will come from the top, I haven’t been able to detect any spouts. What I thought were spouts on the column beneath the globe turned out to be bolts that hold things in place.
Maybe the fountain effect will come with the official unveiling.
Although I don’t know if there will even be an official unveiling.
For the time being, I’ll keep my opinions to myself and let you decide what you think of our new objet d’art.

LA CERCA SE ha eliminado de alrededor de la nueva fuente en nuestra recién nombrada Plaza de las Naciones. No estoy muy seguro de por qué se llama una fuente. Actualmente, la “construcción” se encuentra en una piscina cuadrada de agua. Reviso todos los días para ver si sale agua del “globo” en sí, pero no ha sucedido. Y, a menos que el agua venga de la parte superior, no he podido detectar ninguna boquilla. Lo que pensé que eran boquillas en la columna debajo del globo, resultaron ser pernos que sujetan las cosas en su lugar.

i wonder if the flag size was determined by population of expats or visitors to Fuengirola. No, that can’t be it; the American flag is too big if that’s the case.

I like it, but would be cooler it water came out the top and drizzled down over the nations flags.

I agree. It’s currently NOT a fountain. And, I’ve noticed people are already stepping into the water, since it’s so accessible and not even as deep as a wading pool.

I keep expecting something more to happen… like water drizzling out the top at least. Currently, it’s not a fountain; just a globe in a pool.
I don’t like it. It’s like that song, annoying! Maybe it looks better in person or I’m the only one who thinks its clunky. I’m not known for my artistic tastes. I’m not known for anything for that matter.
I ain’t playing that idiotic song cause it’s an earworm I’ll have for DAYS!
Carebear, you don’t have to play it. Just knowing that it’s there will put the tune in your head! Scoot can be quite evil sometimes!

Yes, I’m evil. But I did at least opt for a classy string quartet as opposed to the Disney ride!
Too late!!! Deedles is right (isn’t she ALWAYS), just hearing the title is too much.

It could be worse — given what else we’ve got around town — but I’m not enamored either. As for you, since we agree on this, your taste is quite obviously exquisite. And you are known for your wit, charm, intelligence, AND beauty!
Maybe the fountain is just the water part on the bottom. When you have water falling over anything the piece can get corroded and splashes can make the walk slippery and lawsuits happened.

It’s looking like that’s the case. But then it’s not really a fountain. It’s just a “construction” standing in a shallow pool of water. AND it’s already become a wading pool with puddles on the pavement.
I say it represents global warming and it is catching the water from the melting glaciers.

And pretty soon the water from the melting glaciers will cause the tides to reach the “fountain.”
Can we have one delivered, to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW? Naww, wouldn’t work, I love the video, did you notice the hamster on the corner of the table? Those repeat everything that is said, I bought one for Someone last Christmas (and a Panda for myself.) .

I do love stuffed animals. Did you also notice the huge stuffed bear? I’d be happy to send our “fountain” to replace that piece of crap currently occupying 1600 Pennsylvania.
I like the shadow the art object casts upon the water more than the actual art object itself.

So do I, which is why every photo includes that shadow.
I would definitely wade in it. It would be nice if it became a true fountain with water spurting out of the top and lights to illuminate the flags at night. I would probably take a shower in it then.
