DUDO HAS HIS favorite spots around the house. Among them: On my lap at my desk; on San Geraldo’s bed on top of books, or close enough to him to demand to be petted; in San Geraldo’s nice warm desk chair the minute he vacates (which he is often strongly encouraged to do); in San Geraldo’s nice warm club chair in the living room the minute he vacates (which he is strongly encouraged to do). And on the back of the sofa — lefthand cushion, not right.

The other night, Moose randomly settled on the back of the sofa. Left-hand cushion. And, as far as Dudo was concerned, that was just ‘not right.’ As you can see below, he tried every way he could without starting a fight (which surprised us) to suggest to Moose that he might want to move. It didn’t work — even though he really did get on Moose’s nerves. I admire Dudo’s persistence. Or is it simply pig-headedness?

.

Dudo no estaba contento.

Don’t look at us for help, San Geraldo and I said.
“Finally!” says Moose.
“¡Finalmente!” dice Moose.
Moose went to use the litter box. “Ha ha!!! Move the meat, lose the seat!”
“¡Jaja!” Move the meat, lose the seat!
Moose’s return.
El regreso de Moose.
Dudo. One hour later.
Dudo. Una hora después.
And Dudo the following morning.
Y Dudo la mañana siguiente.
To me: “Can I have your chair?” “No.”
Para mí: “¿Me das tu sillón?” “No.”
“OK, I’ll sit with YOU, until I shame you into giving up the chair.”
“Get up!” / “¡Levántate!”
Do you believe this?!? / ¿¡¿Puedes creerlo?!?
Bracing for a fight.
Preparándose para una pelea.

  1. Oh sibling rivalry reigns! Moose knows exactly what he is doing……..bugging Dudo.
They have to be the CUTEST cats!!

    1. Jim:
I think you give Moose more credit than he deserves. He usually appears to be clueless. But they sure are funny.

    1. David:
We’re an old married couple, but I let Jerry sit wherever he wants. Hmmm….

    1. Judy:
They’ve been with us for more than 7 years and their personalities continue to mature!

  2. Qui va à la chasse perd sa place, en Français (He who goes off hunting loses his spot). But I like your version better!

    1. Walt the Fourth:
I don’t know what the Spanish expression is in this case. Will have to find out. I also like the American version better than the French in this case. It’s the rhyme.

  3. Such pretty kitties. Franklin and Penelope are very good about taking turns sitting next to me. No arguments.

    Love,
    Janie
