THE FEATURED PHOTO above and the first photo below are my homage to Fuengirola fashion in our bedroom. It’s what we have; I don’t know how long it will last. The rest of the photos are glimpses of our apartment as we continue to make changes. Still some pieces to move out of the living room, and more furniture to buy — like a new dining room table and chairs — and we’ll be done (until the next time the spirit moves us). We wouldn’t want it to look like we’ve lived in one place very long.
San Geraldo’s middle sister and her husband like to build their own homes. She used to say if it was time to paint, it was time to build a new house. We, on the other hand, would simply move.

LA FOTO DESTACADA de arriba y la primera foto de abajo son mi homenaje al estilo de Fuengirola en nuestra habitación. Es lo que tenemos; no sé cuánto durará. El resto de las fotos son vistazos de nuestro apartamento mientras continuamos haciendo cambios. Aún algunas piezas para salir de la sala de estar — y más muebles para comprar, como una nueva mesa y sillas de comedor, y terminaremos (hasta la próxima vez que el espíritu nos mueve). No querríamos que parecer que hemos vivido en un lugar por mucho tiempo.
A la hermana de San Geraldo y a su marido les gusta construir sus propias casas. Ella solía decir que si era hora de pintar, era hora de construir una nueva casa. Nosotros, por otro lado, simplemente nos mudaríamos.
Las almohadas, de izquierda a derecha: hechas para mí por Mi Madre la Duquesa Viuda (DD) en 1978, hechas por DD alrededor de 1970, las siguientes dos fueron hechas por San Geraldo y la última por DD alrededor de 1972. La alfombra Navajo en la parte inferior fue comprado en una galería en Santa Fe, Nuevo México. No tenemos un espacio suficiente en el suelo.
Dudo inspecciona las nuevas almohadas del sofá. No lo aprueba, por lo que los rojos irán a la tienda de caridad después de que sean reemplazados por un rojo menos vibrante. (Así soy yo.)

Thanks. We’re enjoying it here. I did removed the Navajo rug. Surprisingly, I don’t mind the pillows, but the rug was just too much.
Love the series of ‘special pillows’.
Always good to change things up…….as I am looking around here…hm-m-m.

I love the pillows, too (a surprise), but the Navajo rug put me over. It has been removed. Now what to do with it?!?

Are all those gorgeous handcrafted pillows on your bed done in needlework? Your living room looks so warm, cozy and inviting. Personally, I like those red pillows’ splash of colour.

Yep, the pillows were all hand-done. My mother was gifted and made hundreds. SG has made a few; he’s also gifted. Even my expert mother was impressed with his work. He’s had another in the works … for a long time now. Occupied with other things. I liked the splash of color, which was needed, but the red was too cherry red for me. So I replaced the pillows with more a blood red and I’m now really happy (and so is SG).
I love your place. Reminds me of my own in some ways. I could be comfortable there.

It looks lovely yet it makes me wonder – how on earth do you keep it looking so nice with two cats?

I pull the throws off the living room furniture before I take pictures! And, yes, the throws make me just a little crazy, but I’ve somehow adjusted.
I like the red pillows. and the “cat statue” on the table makes the room.

The cherry red pillows have been replaced with blood red pillows. Not so garish and still adds that great splash of color. I’m happy now. That cat statue keeps showing up all around the living room. It looks great wherever it’s “placed.”
Love the cushions on the bed, a comfortable looking apartment.

How did the one night stand work out?
David:
It lasted a few night and then got kicked out of the bedroom. That’s it in the next to last photo. We have simple 2-shelf cabinets at either side of the bed and they look and work fine.
Actually, Dudo looks like he fits right in on that coffee table, like he’s a conversation piece.
Kirk:
Dudo fits in anywhere. (Just ask him.) One of his new favorite spots is atop the back of the new recliners.
