THE MUSIC OF Málaga. San Geraldo and I were there Tuesday evening to catch the second of the three nightly music and light shows on Calle Larios, the pedestrian mall in the center of the old city. I’ll have to go back for more. There are music and light shows all over town this year. The video is of the entire nearly 10-minute display. Starting with “Never Back Down,” Battlecry; then to “Jingle Bell Rock,” by Hillary Duff; and ending with my favorite “En Navidad,”with Javián, Alex, David Bustamante, and Academia OT.

I don’t think you necessarily need snow to get into the Christmas mood, but you do need that combination of dark nights and illumination, as these pictures prove.

Our first Christmas in LA was very weird. But we’ve adjusted to these climates and the holiday season. Besides, we’ve got an outdoor ice skating rink in town for the holidays. I wonder how much it costs to keep THAT chilled! It’s at least got an awning over it.
San Geraldo looks like hes dressed for below zero! Those lights in Malaga are so pretty, they certainly do it up right

Nah,subzero would find SG (if anyone could find him) in long underwear, 2 pairs of socks, and a ski mask.
What gorgeous light displays! I love stuff like that. And +15C? Good gawd, in Canada, +15C is when I debate whether I should perhaps put on a light coat. Today it’s -15C here. Are you SURE that San Geraldo has nordic viking blood?

Yeah 15C is a warm summer day in Northern Norway. And SG grew up in South Dakota. But we left cold environs a long time ago and the blood has thinned.
59F is a heat wave compared to 32F here!

Freezing at 15 C. oh my! We are at -5C here tonight, wonder what would happen to you poor dears. Beautiful lights, love Spain for their sense of flair in decorating the streets. I remember Madrid, Seville and Granada very nice lights all around.

It’s currently 62 here. But I must note that apparently the windchill makes it feel like it’s only 61! The winds started blowing with powerful gusts late last night. They haven’t stopped. Just went for a walk (could still manage that) and saw downed trees and palm fronds (dangerous) everywhere. Still better than 34 even without wind!
