Random Roaming / Deambulando

We just returned home from morning coffee at Mesón Salvador, which turned into lunch at Mesón Salvador. I’m about to head out onto the terrace to do some work. It’s cloudy and breezy today. A chilly 15C (59F). Yes, I said chilly! It feels like 14C (58F).

Here are some photos from another chilly day in recent weeks. I managed to complete my walk on the beach and Paseo before the rains came. There’s a very slight chance of rain predicted tonight. But, for now, we just have to cope with the cold. Overnight and Wednesday morning, it’s supposed to get down to 11C (52F) and feel like 9C (48F)!

This cow knows when to come in out of the rain.
Esta vaca sabe cuándo salir de la lluvia.
I actually turned and said, “Oh, excuse me.” (The ape was on a table and he didn’t even have a bottom half.)
En realidad me di vuelta y dije: “Oh, perdón”. (El mono estaba en una mesa y ni siquiera tenía la mitad inferior).

  1. My lips are sealed!!! lol
LOVE that first photo! Overcast days are the best for colour-popping photography.
Happy New Year to you both!

  2. I love the inclusion of heart and flowers 🙂 At least your table looks like a primate! I say excuse me to furniture, walls and the frickin’ dishwasher door every time I bump into them. The dishwasher leaves marks on my shins. I think it’s trying to kill me. I’m the only one who empties it, the ingrate!

    1. Deedles,
SG regularly greets his reflection in hallway mirrors. He’s so polite… and confused. Furniture and appliances are dangerous. I’m always covered with cuts and bruises. They’re so aggressive when they attack.

      1. You got that right! I do believe that Twilight Zone episode about appliances attacking was actually a documentary.

      2. Deedles:
Definitely a documentary. Based on actual fact. We have an aluminum strainer that jumps of the wall rack and attacks me every day. Ditto a long horizontal pull handle on an upper cabinet… with its razor-like edges. The Twilight Zone was always based on true stories.

  3. I like the heart of shells. HAPPY 2020 to you and jerry and the cats! currently sunny and 44F here.

    1. Anne Marie,
44 is frigid to us! The blood thinned over the years. I’m so glad I came upon those shells before someone destroyed it. Wishing you a happy birthday 2020!

  4. As always your photos capture both the picture and the spirit! Happy and Healthy New Year’s to you and SG, all those who love you and all those you love!

And sorry about the cold weather – NOT – add a minus sign to what you’re getting.

    1. Willym,
When we speak in Fahrenheit, Jerry’s sister in central South Dakota regularly points out that its 100 degrees colder there.

    1. Debra,
Hibiscus is a very common planting all over town. It’s one plant the cut gardeners tend to do a good job with. I love Ale-Hop.

    1. Jennifer,
Thanks. Wishing you and yours the same. Hope you’re enjoying a little peace and quiet!

  5. Ernie Kovacs is a bit before my time, but I’ve seen him in documentaries about 1950s television and whatnot, and I recall he did a bit dressed as a chimp in sunglasses. That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw that bottom picture.

    1. Kirk,
I remember him from my childhood, but more after the fact. Oddly, I had crush on Edie Adams. Had forgotten the chimps bit until I looked it up. Thanks for reminding me.
