MAYBE IT’S TOO early in the season for sightings of Fuengirola’s fashion bloomers of 2020, so I’ve instead shared a collection of people in last year’s bloomers. If these bloomers aren’t to your liking, some stretches of the Paseo are currently filled with happily blooming tamarind trees — amid the many dead and dying ones (click here). When the tamarind’s are happy (as they so rarely are here), they’re wonders to behold. Today, it’s all about the bloomers.

Oh, those fluffy catkins on the tamarind trees! Do people have allergies to them when they’re blooming like that?

I’m sure they (we) must. You can see them floating everywhere in the wind. Today is especially windy and there are at times clouds of those … and sand. But there’s always something in bloom here to wreak havoc with allergies. The price we pay… willingly.
Well, these pix have me anticipating summer, and it isn’t even bloomin’ spring yet!

The wind was raging this morning. Sand storms on the beach. But it’s calmed now and currently 76 degrees!
Pussy willows! (As D & M will surely recognise!)

Oh, we had those in our backyard when I was a kid. One of the first signs of spring. These aren’t those exactly, but a nice reminder. Dudo and Moose don’t give two shits about pussy willows, however. The return of the swallows is driving them insane.

We have one of those trees in our garden. They’re beautiful when they’re healthy!

I’ve never seen this particular type of tamarind and was convinced I was being told the wrong name when I asked. Do you have problems with it in your garden, too?
Oh, THOSE bloomers! I at first thought those other bloomers/baggy underwear! lol

It’s been a very strange winter. We have hardly had one. And it’s supposed to be our rainy season. Still hoping for late-season rains.
I like some of both kinds of bloomers.

Those catkins are quite lovely aren’t they. Any chance you may dive bomb the blooms and show us a macro view of the buds. I am always intrigued with plants offerings. Now how about dive bombing those bloomers….. LOL! Winks!
