THIS IS BECOMING NORMAL. I worry that when restrictions are [finally] lifted, I won’t have any interest in leaving the house, nor of being social. I know for certain Dudo and Moose are in for a major shock … one of these days. For now, they’re completely in control.
When I go outside, there are drones and police monitoring my movements to serve the greater good. When I’m home, there are two cats monitoring my movements — to serve their own selfish needs.

Those cats OWN you! LOL! Seriously, I imagine this is all very puzzling for many, many pets. I LOVE the photo of the cat through the ripply glass.

Oh, they do. Moose even decides when it’s time for me to get out of bed in the morning. And SG has already fed him, so it’s for no other reason other than he thinks it’s about time.
By the way the cats are watching you guys it looks like they just can’t wait for you to leave……..wondering what they must do when they have the place to themselves!
We are not in lockdown here in Canada but our movements are restricted to essential services only. We are ‘encouraged’ to follow the rules (if not there are hefty fines for those selfish few that seem not to care at all.

Those stares were all because they wanted a treat. Dudo, however, will rarely use the litter box or eat if we’re in the room. So, he does have another look for that. Hefty fines and even arrest here for disobeying lockdown rules. And they’re being enforced. THAT has definitely helped.
our 3 have figured out “oh mommy & daddy are home? so what!” they are sticking to their routines. sometimes if I take an afternoon nap, one of them will curl up next to me.

Oh, these two are taking advantage of all the extra time with us. Sometimes, it’s sweet.
All our pets are now looking at e like, “Why are you home ALL the time?”
Sadly, so is Carlos.

Our cats are used to us being around since we don’t work. But this is extreme. Fortunately, SG and have had years of practice at being together for long stretches. Having our hotel for two years, where we worked together and lived together in two rooms 24-hours a day, definitely helped.
One dinner at Mason Salvador and you will slip back into the old normal.

I do look forward to Mesón Salvador, but I also wonder if we will so easily slip back into the old normal in other ways.
Two of my favorite cats!!!!!!!!! Yes i think many pets will be going through separation anxiety when this is over. Buster does. That’s why when i go out to take a walk…i don’t take him for the second one of the day. I need him to have his own time so the issue doesn’t start up again.

It’s been 31 days and these boys have not been without at least one of us in the house for even a moment. It’s going to be hell to pay.
The cats are definitely loving it – so is Buddy. Both parents home almost 100% of the time…..he and hubby are getting more clingy. I didn’t know they had the drones out patrolling in Spain. Pictures of our trip to Spain 4 years ago popped up in my FB feed yesterday…we were at Cordoba exactly 4 years ago. When will this bloody crap be over!

Oh, Córdoba. I remember your trip to Spain and can’t believe it was that long ago. They’ve been doing whatever they can here to ensure that lockdown works, and it looks like it has. Some nonessential jobs are back on. Construction is starting up again. Cleaners are back on the beach. It’s nice to see a little activity again.
We woke up to SNOW. Our dog Benni was like “What IS this stuff?” I’m sure cats would just shrug.

I have a feeling our cats would love snow, and then curl up by the heater for 12 hours.
Moose, in that first shot! I miss having cats very much. I love our dogs, but by nature am more of a cat person. We will have to create the next normal – hope we make the right decisions.

I love both dogs and cats, but cats usually require less (like scheduled walks), which make them a better choice for us. I hope, too, that we make the right decisions. What a mess right now.
I must say. in those first two pictures, that doesn’t seem like a look of love on Dudo’s face! My dog’s have basically lucked out. They’ve always been stuck with me in the house. If I throw on perfume and clothes they would look at each other like, she’s leaving, really? It’s about time! BH is considered essential (well his job is anyway) so he’s on lockdown on weekends and every other Friday. He’s also the one picking up groceries and meds, with me at home hoping he won’t get mistaken for a thief in that prowler mask of his. Thanks for the kitty pix. They are always a smile inducement 🙂

In the first pic of Dudo on my lap, he was just about to bark because I had stopped petting him to adjust the camera. In the second, I had just begun to pet again after being barked at. Glad you’re both staying well. I remember a photo of BH in uniform. Maybe he should wear it every time he has to don a mask for shopping. I’ve been reading lots of stories about people’s fears of wearing masks. What a world!

I do, too, despite the fact that, yet again, Moose decided when it was time for me to get out of bed this morning… for no other reason than he simply decided it was time.
HRH sees nothing wrong with the situation.

And just for a sec here was I thinking that D and M must be going out of their little minds with the lockdown. Then I realised that, in fact, they must be in their element!

Oh, they’re in heaven. They are NOT going to be thrilled when, some day, SG and I walk out of the house together and stay away for hours. Some day…
