THE LIVING ROOM RECLINERS HAVE gone to their new home with Luke, Beckett, and their parents. I’ll share photos in the coming days, but everyone is happy. Lolo (from Mesón Salvador) and his brother-in-law did all the work, including taking My Mother the Dowager Duchess’s oriental rug. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful people in our lives. San Geraldo and I get to go furniture and rug shopping… again. In the meantime, come for a walk with me on the beach at sunrise yesterday — which makes perfect sense.

LOS SILLONES RECLINABLES DEL SALÓN se han ido a su nuevo hogar con Luke, Beckett y sus padres. Compartiré fotos en los próximos días, pero todos estamos felices. Lolo (de Mesón Salvador) y su cuñado hicieron todo el trabajo, incluso llevarse la alfombra oriental de Mi Madre la Duquesa Viuda. Somos muy afortunados de tener personas tan maravillosas en nuestras vidas. San Geraldo y yo podemos ir a comprar muebles y alfombras … otra vez. Mientras tanto, ven a caminar conmigo por la playa al amanecer ayer, lo cual tiene mucho sentido.

We’ve got two of those hands. Another is about a mile west(and south) along the beach. They’re nothing like the ones at National Harbor in DC but people enjoy them. I’ve actually seen them being sold at a local statuary place.

I’m usually up that early, just don’t have the push to get myself out of the house. I need to try harder. It’s a great time to walk and enjoy the view. Kathleen immediately sent me a photo of the kids in one of the chairs. All smiles. And the chairs looked really nice in their new house… with space!
Dawn is the best time of day – so full of potential.

Love the pink underbelly of the clouds. You did get an early start to your day. We had rain showers just before dawn for the last 2 days and were treated to gorgeous rainbows as the sun rose.

Oh, I want a rainbow… and rain. I felt drizzle on my face when we were out shopping yesterday. By the time I said so, it stopped.
The skies are pretty…..but to damn early for me.

I’m usually up but don’t get myself outside. It’s my favourite time of day (to see). Walking on the beach in the pitch dark and hearing the sound of the surf, though, is the most powerful time for me.
I’m with Steve about that hand sculpture! Caaaareeeeepy! It also has a weird growth protruding from it.
As usual, your photos are works of art. If it weren’t for the fact that I’d have to put on clothes, I would walk that early in the morning. God knows I’m awake then. I always see this bright star when I look out of my bathroom window during my 3:00 a.m. pee. I wonder if it is Venus. It is huge and doesn’t move, so I know it’s not a plane 🙂 . I be smart you know.

We’ve got two of those hand sculptures. But they’re nothing special and can be purchased ready made at a local statuary place. That weird growth is a “palm tree,” don’t you see! If you get out before sunrise and head straight to the beach in the dark, no need for clothes. Oh, crap, maybe that wasn’t Venus. It’s not supposed to move?!?
That illuminated coffee shop in the darkness looks so inviting! I can just imagine the heavenly smell of coffee too.

I had just started my walk and that cafe surrounded by dark and with only one customer was really tempting. It’s not a local one-off, but it’s an excellent chain called Garnier with the best fresh pastries. It’s the pits when they’re busy (their order/pay process leaves something to be desired), so that time was tempting.
Gorgeous way to start the day … aromantic stroll with your fella!

Oh, the National Harbor sculptures are SO much better. I love rug shopping, too. Not SG. Any kind of shopping is a nightmare for him. He actually survived two shops yesterday.
Would be happy to join you for such a beautiful (early) morning stroll. Glad you were able to find new homes for the chairs and rug. Great bunch of folks you have there.
And if some of the commenters think that hand sculpture is creepy, they should check out ‘The Awakening’ sculpture that used to be on Hains Point in DC, but was moved to the National Harbor MGM entertainment complex (further down the Potomac River in MD). That, my friends, is creepy.

Our hand sculpture is simply a play on “palm tree.” The Awakening is definitely creepy and very powerful. We saw it in its original spot a long while back. Ours is kind of basic and I find it fun.
