SAN GERALDO WAS IN MY office this morning and I couldn’t help but notice his trendy look. Ralph Lauren lounging pants, hand-knit Norwegian socks, and a pair of vintage slippers. OK, the slippers aren’t really vintage. They’re just old and cheap. He bought a new pair a few months ago, but continues to wear the old ones. Fortunately, he’s never worn them in public. Oops. Until now.
Like me, Dudo is always worried about appearances. He has toys in every color of the rainbow (sometimes all in one toy). This week, he’s brought two mice into the living room. The gray ones that coordinate with the furnishings. San Geraldo said Dudo was playing with a white mouse on his own white rug in SG’s office. I’m couldn’t be more proud.
Storm Filomena has reached the Iberian Coast from the Atlantic. We’ve already got rain, wind, and dramatic skies, but the worst hasn’t yet arrived. Record-breaking snows are expected north of us. I’ve read that here in Málaga the rains may be “strong and persistent.” I walked on the beach this morning. The weather has worsened since. It’s beautiful.

SAN GERALDO ESTABA EN MI oficina esta mañana y no pude evitar notar su aspecto moderno. Pantalones holgados de Ralph Lauren, calcetines noruegos tejidos a mano, y un par de zapatillas vintage. De acuerdo, las zapatillas no son realmente vintages. Simplemente son viejas y baratas. Compró un par nuevo hace unos meses, pero sigue usando las viejas. Afortunadamente, nunca los ha usado en público. ¡Ups! Hasta ahora.
Como yo, Dudo siempre está preocupado por las apariencias. Tiene juguetes de todos los colores del arco iris (a veces todos en un solo juguete). Esta semana, ha traído dos ratones a la sala de estar. Los grises que combinan con el mobiliario. San Geraldo dijo que Dudo estaba jugando con un ratón blanco en su propia alfombra blanca en la oficina de SG. No podría estar más orgulloso.
La borrasca Filomena ha llegado a la costa ibérica desde el Atlántico. Ya tenemos lluvia, viento, y cielos dramáticos, pero lo peor aún no ha llegado. Se esperan nevadas récord al norte de nosotros. He leído que aquí en Málaga las lluvias pueden ser “fuertes y persistentes”. Caminé por la playa esta mañana. El clima ha empeorado desde entonces. Es bonito.
