When I was at the other end of town to visit the Medieval Market (the previous blog post), I was surprised to see all the activities available. The last time I was at the river, I didn’t notice much more than bicycle rentals and the pedal boats that I got to enjoy with Sara, John, and Truly Great Nephew Jack (click here to see how truly great). There may have been a couple of other things, but still it was pretty quiet. Now there’s a restaurant/bar right on the river below the castle and a whole bunch of outdoor activities — a rock wall, surfboard and boat rentals, and more. The zip line across the river looked especially fun. My impression was that these were all high-season installations (primarily the month of August) — even the restaurant. I’ll have to check back. (The first photo and the last four can all be made even more exciting — bigger — if you click on them.)

I'd like to, but I'd like some company (watching) when I do it. Maybe I'll have the chance in September. It's a very short zip. I definitely wouldn't scream (but I might pee my pants).
I think I could do that… the last time I tried zip-lining I paid the $100, got strapped in the harness…. lost my nerve… also lost my $100 🙁 So… don't chicken out if you decide to give it a go.

If you came close to doing a $100-version, I think you'd succeed at this one. It's really quick (less than 30 seconds, I'm sure) and not very high really.
I might just try something like this! It would be great to be wearing a 'Go Pro' type camera while zipping across!

You and San Geraldo always have the same first thought. This is one I'm sure wouldn't have such a low weight limit. Can you imagine? "Well, we're pretty sure we can support YOU at 230 lbs, but 260 [or whatever] might be pushing it." That would give everyone lots of confidence…
….outdoorsy kinda guy and a mattress in one sentence….hMMmmmm but of course this is all about Zippers and I do believe you should try it….come on and pictures please!!

What do they charge to rent the fishing tackle, including hooks, to snag the "zippers" as they come across. Now, that looks like a fun activity!

Worth it at any price. However, the way I cast. I'd have to aim for the water to hit the "zipper."
Speaking of which, while fishing once with San Geraldo and his parents, his mother snagged MY zipper when she was casting.
