Pre-op, pre-sunrise, after treats / Preoperatorio, antes del amanecer, después de aperetivos

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

This is a quick check-in this morning before I head to the hospital for my pre-op tests. It doesn’t matter how minor the surgery, there’s still blood tests, chest x-ray, and review by a doctor. Surgery is Tuesday. The sun hasn’t come up. I haven’t eaten. After this is done, I’ll eat and go back to sleep. I’ve been managing to keep up on everyone else’s blogs lately, but not my own which is why I’m sharing this little bit before I head out the door — in the dark. I did manage to capture Wednesday’s sunrise and sunset. I don’t want to turn the light on and disturb San Geraldo and, especially, the cats. It’s not easy choosing clothes in the dark.

No he comido.

• Can you tell I dressed in the dark?
• ¿Puedes decir que me vestí de oscuro?

All went well. Onward to the repair Tuesday! There was a glorious sunrise this morning. I went back to sleep!

  1. Treat yourself well, after the early morning venture. Just think of all of the wonderful walking you will be able to do in a few weeks when everything is healed. I need to go shopping for a gift for WH.

  2. Look- I’m just going to say it- life is too short for brown plaid. No.
May all go well and I am hoping that after the surgery you will be feeling relieved and better in the mind and in the foot.

      1. If one must wear brown and beige plaid, then I suppose that paisleys and flowers are as fine a thing to go with it as anything.

I didn’t have time to run up to the 11th floor for a better view of that sunset. We’re on 3. Sunset yesterday was also incredible.

I was isn line at a shop when that outfit showed up. I wasn’t even subtle about taking pictures. She didn’t see me but the woman behind wondered what the hell I was up to.

  3. I might have to get up early every morning for a sunrise like that. I don’t know how you can go back to bed. Once I’m awake, that’s it… at least until the afternoon when I can easily take a nap.

    1. Kelly:
I do have problems going back to sleep many mornings if I spend too long taking photos.

  4. Don’t worry! I’m here to take charge of the worrying. Please tell me those clothes are not yours.

    Love,
    Janie

  5. Wait wait wait WAIT JUST A MINUTE…. surgery!?!? How did I miss this? What are you having surgery for? Is it for the bunion?

    1. Judy C:
Yes, the stupid bunionette. My friends are starting to comment on how much time I’ve spent at the hospital in the past year!

    1. Kirk:
That one is of the sunset. From our apartment, the sunrise only exposes the Mediterranean Sea. Sometimes I forgot how great our location is.

  6. To anyone who thinks Mitchell had that on, I have an investment opportunty to share. Sunrise photo perfection. MS Nell

  7. LOL — that’s quite an outfit. Spectacular sunrise and sunset, though! Needless to say I hope all goes well with your operation.
