That’s Why They Call Him The Sheikh

Although San Geraldo and Judy might not agree (that’s might not), I’m still not the best company.

More than anyone else though, I suppose I’m the one who would especially prefer to not be around me. But the mood will pass. So, on to other things.

San Geraldo carries an IKEA dish towel wherever he goes. And he has no shame about throwing it over his head to protect himself from the sun, from the flies, or (maybe) from the paparazzi. The towel is an un-charming accessory you might remember from past posts.

San Geraldo wore the towel after we arrived in New York. He wore it Monday of this week on the streets of Málaga. And he wore it Tuesday morning at Café Manila here in Los Boliches. He even wore it this morning at Cafe El 90 next door, although he removed it before I could grab a shot.

Our dear friend The Goddess Elena (click here) headed north Tuesday afternoon on family business. It’s expected to be a stressful trip. So she snapped a selfie with San Geraldo Tuesday morning. She said she’ll look at it throughout the week, whenever she needs a good laugh. I suppose I should count myself lucky. I’ve got the real thing.

I keep singing, “That’s why they call him the sheikh.” But that’s a song by Ray Stevens and the correct lyrics are: “That’s why they call him the streak.” I’m too classy to share the video of “The Streak.” So click here if you want to see that.

(OK, maybe I’m not too classy to include “The Streak”; I just don’t want to embed two videos.)

Here’s some high-tone music:

SEEN ON THE BOARDWALK LAST WEEK: A CONEY ISLAND SHEIKH.
