I haven’t done much of anything today. We finished lunch about a half hour ago and I think I’ll have a siesta. I’m not even going to mention what I should have done earlier in the day. Honestly, I don’t really care.
I’m getting excited about Córdoba Pride this year. I missed it all last year, being a bit overwhelmed with life I think. The big weekend follows this one and that falls several days before we head off for the wedding adventure. Perfect timing. I just read the parade will take off on the 13th from right around the corner at the Palacio de la Merced. How can we possibly miss that?
Córdoba Pride is more intimate than other Pride events we’ve been to. It should be a nice change. Torremolinos was one big corporate sponsorship and didn’t elevate me the way gay pride parades usually do. My favorites were in San Diego, but we were much more a part of the community there. It helped that I marched either with The Center or UC San Diego.
And now, off to bed.

¡Estoy emocionadísima por el Orgullo de Córdoba este año! Me lo perdí el año pasado; creo que estaba un poco agobiada con la vida. El gran fin de semana es justo después de este, y eso es solo unos días antes de que nos vayamos a la boda. ¡Qué casualidad! Acabo de leer que el desfile comenzará el 13 desde el Palacio de la Merced, prácticamente a la vuelta de la esquina. ¿Cómo podríamos perdérnoslo?
Córdoba Pride es más íntimo que otros eventos del Orgullo en los que hemos asistido. Debería ser un buen cambio. Torremolinos fue un gran patrocinio corporativo y no me elevó como suelen elevarme los desfiles del orgullo gay. Mis favoritos estaban en San Diego, pero allí éramos mucho más parte de la comunidad. Me ayudó que marchara con The Center o Universidad de California San Diego.
Y ahora, a la cama.
• Tras las mejoras realizadas bajo la superficie, se procede a la colocación manual de los adoquines.
• Mientras me dirigía a encontrarme con San Geraldo para almorzar el jueves.
• Las últimas plantaciones de temporada en la Plaza de las Tendillas.
• Un “manitas” ha estado recorriendo la ciudad pegando folletos publicitarios de diferentes servicios. Deberían multarlo por vandalismo y obligarlo a retirar los folletos y limpiar las superficies. Los ha pegado en las columnas de afuera de nuestro edificio. En fin, soy casi una cabeza más alto que esa puerta.
• Vacas en la estación de autobuses dando la bienvenida a los viajeros a la cafetería. Aquí es donde paran los autobuses.

Oh boy am I loving the picture of the hot pink roses! How glorious. And I too will look forward to seeing pictures from your pride. It’ll be interesting to see how it compares to where you used to live. Our gay Christmas month is one of my favorites of the year.

Those are a combination of bougainvillea. But, amazing color.
I love bougainvillea (that’s what that picture is, right?) and had a big one outside my backdoor of the city house. I’ve tried growing one here but it freezes back every year and has yet to bloom. So far it hasn’t come back this year so I think maybe it’s dead.
I’d be pissed to find some flyer pasted on my entrance.

Yes, bougainvillea. I don’t often see the combinations in full boom together. The colors are astounding. We had a 70-year-old one outside our bedroom door to the backyard in San Diego. The trunk was monstrous and it bloomed all year non-stop. I trimmed it back from the door every couple of weeks. those flyers infuriate me. Handyman, hauler. They’re permanently glued and require a whole bunch of work to remove. Neighbors scrape away the contact information. Disgusting.
I think it was a post of yours a while back that stated that Spain was ranked as the most LGBTQ+ friendly country in the world. My son lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands where World Pride will be in July.

Yes, voted #1 in Europe for LGBTQ+ rights, human rights, and legal protections. But, oh, Amsterdam!
Love the flowers! I must admit, with all that’s going on in the front of that building, I never noticed the flyer. I had to pull out my old trusty magnifying glass. I guess it’s more annoying up close and personal. Love the welcoming cows!

That’s one of the least offensive of the flyers. We’ve got three on the columns outside our building. Neighbors immediately scratch off the contact info so, although it’s vandalism, they limit the business opportunities. Maybe the police could phone the number and then fine them for vandalism when they arrive.
Bougainvillea! – just looking at that picture makes me feel like the sun’s shining on me. Lurid, but lovely!
I’ve met some cows at bus stations, but that lot take the biscuit.

It’s not common to see the two different bougainvilleas in full bloom together. I love it. Yeah, I had some snarky thoughts about cows when I saw those windows.
Oh I feel you with some Pride celebrations being too corporate.

Torremolinos Pride was one huge identical flat bed truck after another. I couldn’t even tell who was being represented. Very impersonal.

The stones (and specialty tiles) are stacked up for days. But I haven’t seen anyone helping themselves. Plenty for you. I’ve never been inside a Spanish prison.

Love the cows welcoming travellers! It’s always good to start a visit or end a trip with a laugh… I’m assuming that “Asturiana” is a dairy company?
I like your photo of the yellow Aster-like flowers amongst leaf litter and cigarette butts. Though likely considered a weed and overlooked by many, it’s a good reminder to bloom where we’re planted!

Asturiana is the #1 dairy brand in the country. I was charmed by those asters amid the detritus.
I’m marching with my UU church in the Cleveland march (“Pride in the Cle”) tomorrow morning. There’s a chance of rain. Here’s hoping I stay dry.

Those flyers are also advertising themselves as the culprits. I’d call and shout at them then threaten them with charges if they don’t clean off the flyer and glue! Make a lot of noise. It’s unacceptable in such a city. Or anywhere, but certainly there. Boud

I should just phone, tell them I’ll never use their services because of the damage they do to our neighborhoods, and then hang up.
My plant ID app says those sweet little persistent flowers are known as crown daisies or edible chrysanthemum OR chop suey green. Sometimes it is the most delicate-appearing things which are actually the strongest.
As I don’t need to tell you, the US has gone backwards when it comes to Pride support, just as it has gone backwards when it comes to anything having to do with human rights.

We don’t get Pride until September because in June SC is Hell!
But every year it gets slightly bigger and better and more and more people attend so that’s a plus for our Red State.

Plaza Mayor in Málaga has the best collection of cows. I’d love one. They have calves, too, which would work better in our house.
Love the bougainvillea! I can’t believe it’s almost time for Pride already. I think we’re going to be away during the London parade this year, so I’m probably going to miss it. I’ll survive.

All the different varieties of bougainvillea are in bloom right now. Some, mostly magenta, bloom year-round. Others have a bit more self control. I love when the colors mix.
We are going to our first local pride event in years. A friend is visiting who has very little lgbtq+ community in his neck of the woods and wanted to go.
