In case you’re wondering, my mood is tolerable today, meaning I’m possibly safe to be around. The Kid Brother is of course out of money again, but he’s fine. I’ve already been in touch with his office and asked for some specifics about his withdrawals since last week and fixed expenses. They’re getting the details for me. I’m still not convinced he’s spending irresponsibly.
I was out of bed early and took a two-hour walk all around town and across the river before the heat grew too unpleasant. It’s now living up to the high temperature warning and air quality, poor this morning, is expected to be very poor this evening. The heat should last through Friday with temps coming down quite a bit over the 10 days that follow. A break!
My walk was good, although people got on my nerves. That’s what happens when I venture into the middle of the most touristed areas with my bad attitude. The weather, I’m sure, is having its effect on the multitudes. San Geraldo and I are checking out another aquarium shop this afternoon, so I’m going to jump in the shower now while he’s having a siesta. Today you get to view a bunch of closed doors.

Doors are such an art form in Europe! These are all wonderful!
Debra,
The care, thought, and workmanship is amazing.
Oh my! SO many doors! LOVE them all.
Ron’s remedy for bad moods…..a TICKLE! Sometimes it helps/other times gets on my nerves!! lol
Jim,
Ron’s remedy would not go over well with me.
Ron here ~ I’ve got long fingers so beware!!
Oh, Ron, you beware if you want to keep all those long fingers.
An excellent selection, as always. You’ll never be short of fancy doors to photograph in Cordoba, it seems!
I sympathise with being pissed-off with tourists. I, like all Londoners, have a well-practiced “tut-and-sigh” that comes into use whenever I’m travelling by Tube – or anywhere in the centre of town… Jx
Jon,
If I only I could constrain myself to tut and sigh.
It’s hard to walk around when it’s so hot, even if you go early. So kudos to you for getting out there among the hordes! I don’t blame you for being short tempered. I’m the same way around crowds.
Very curious about KB. I wonder where his money is going?
Steve,
I’m so worried someone is stealing his money. It’s happened before, but not in this way. We’ll figure it out.
Ah, the ol’ door gallery. Love it, Scoot!
Deedles,
And I still have so many more photos.
I love the single negative palm print on the last one. Are those tiles on the doors with the blue surround.
ellen abbott,
I love that!
This post proves…doors need not be boring!!!!! I love them all. Especially that first door with its cornice above it.
Mistress Maddie,
Oh, the cornices.
So many door styles and designs. I wonder if the original builders used them as ways to express themselves. A door is not just a thing to close and open. It is a metaphorical entrance to one’s very life.
And sometimes, a door is just a door. Close the door!
Mary Moon,
It is fascinating how important and unusual the doors are.
I fear I’d have to pick a door and then build a house to go with it!!
Bob,
I know what you mean.
Did you see the eclipse? Boud
Boud,
We didn’t look but it turns out Córdoba was a perfect place for it.
So much creativity goes into doors where you are!
Kirk,
It’s fascinating.
Each door is so personal, beautiful. I saw similar individual doors in many countries like Poland and Greece.
larrymuffin,
I keep discovering doors on streets I’ve already walked.
That second door is intriguing. Good for you for getting out! And was the eclipse visible for you? Olivia
Olivia,
We were it seems in an excellent place to see the eclipse. We never did get the glasses, so didn’t bother.
“To prove you are human, select all the photos with doors in them”. LOL!
Hey, Mitchell, just go with the vibe. It will pass. Of course, the heat, humidity and smoke are not helping. Walked outside yesterday morning when I let the cats go out for their morning constitutional, and the wildfire smoke had me coughing in a few minutes. Cleared out last night, and this morning, we’re getting a marvelous rain to wash whatever settled, away.
Rade,
Did you prove you were human? I find that difficult sometimes.
