Let’s go back to Málaga, but only in pictures. Any day spent with Alyson and Nick is worth revisiting. Besides, I took a lot of pictures, and of some things new to me even after all these years.
Although we only visited the gift shop of the OXO Museum, Nick and Alyson had already visited the museum itself. It’s “an interactive museum dedicated to the history and culture of video games, showcasing the past, present, and future of digital entertainment.” The museum opened in early 2023, but I never knew about it. It’s named for the game Naughts and Crosses which was created in 1952.
The gift shop was fun. Like Alyson, I don’t… Oh, wait. That sounds like the gift shop was fun like Alyson. Alyson is more fun than the gift shop. But, like Alyson, I don’t have much interest, having never been a gamer. Nick, on the other hand, would be happy to live there. He bought a few things. Excitedlly, he showed me a coffee mug. I had no idea what the gaming image even was. He whispered, “Alyson is going to say, ‘Do we need another coffee mug´?” He held up the mug for Alyson to see, “Do we need another coffee mug?” she asked. Apparently, they did.
I SAW THE nephrologist yesterday evening and was stunned to receive great news. He said my most recent lab work was good and he considers my kidney disease under control. Not in remission, but at least under control. He suspended one of my medications which means I’m now down from a high of 16 pills a day to only 10 pills (not counting the ones I take “as needed”). We went out and celebrated last night at Goiko Grill, because they make us feel like family. We were going to call Shannon and Stacy but remembered that they had Spanish class.
We are currently out for coffee and second breakfast while Merchi works her magic.

Volvamos a Málaga, pero solo en fotos. Cualquier día con Alyson y Nick merece la pena revivirlo. Además, tomé muchas fotos, y de algunas cosas nuevas para mí, incluso después de todos estos años.
Aunque solo visitamos la tienda de regalos del Museo OXO, Nick y Alyson ya habían visitado el museo. Es «un museo interactivo dedicado a la historia y la cultura de los videojuegos, que muestra el pasado, el presente y el futuro del entretenimiento digital». El museo abrió a principios de 2023, pero yo no lo conocía. Se llama así por el juego Noughts and Crosses, creado en 1952.
La tienda de regalos era divertida. Como Alyson, yo no… Oh, espera. Eso suena a que la tienda de regalos era divertida como Alyson. Alyson es más divertida que la tienda de regalos. Pero, como Alyson, no me interesa mucho, ya que nunca he sido gamer. Nick, en cambio, estaría encantado de vivir allí. Compró algunas cosas. Emocionado, me enseñó una taza de café. No tenía ni idea de qué era esa imagen de juego. Me susurró: «Alyson va a preguntar: ‘¿Necesitamos otra taza de café?’». Levantó la taza para que Alyson la viera. «¿Necesitamos otra taza de café?», pregunto. Al parecer, sí.
AYER POR LA tarde fui al nefrólogo y me quedé atónita con la gran noticia. Dijo que mis últimos análisis de laboratorio salieron bien y que considera que mi enfermedad renal está controlada. No en remisión, pero al menos controlada. Me suspendió una medicación, lo que significa que ahora he bajado de 16 pastillas al día a solamente 10. Anoche salimos a celebrar en Goiko Grill, porque nos hacen sentir como en familia. Íbamos a llamar a Shannon y Stacy, pero recordamos que tenían clase de español.
Ahora mismo estamos tomando un café y un segundo desayuno mientras Merchi hace su magia.
