Well, I can’t honestly see clearly yet. But the dining room table and the pub table have been emptied and we can now arrange the furniture. Unfortunately, I have to go down to Málaga tomorrow to see the nephrologist. So, things will have to wait until Thursday. But we’re making progress. And we keep coming up with things we’d like to buy (groan).
We met our new public health doctor yesterday. I have to bring her my most recent documents (lab results and report) from my doctor in Málaga. She can then refer me to a nephrologist here. I’m still waiting for a call from a nephrologist at Public Health Fuengirola. The last time I was there I was told it could take up to 10 months. It’s been almost 5. I hope Córdoba is better. It looks promising. I made my next appointment with the doctor here and they apologized because the soonest available was in 10 days. Our backs are improving but slowly.
San Geraldo has an appointment tonight for a scan, just to be sure. Although our backs ache and we’re buried in boxes, paper, banks, doctors, city hall, address changes, and the rest, we both agree we love Córdoba.
We were invited to dinner at Mauricio and Diego’s apartment Sunday night. Had a very pleasant dinner and watched the sunset from their terrace. They live about a half-hour walk from us. Normally, I would enjoy that, but our backs throb with each step (mine, not as much today). Taxi!
The dishwasher works. The clothes washer works. I cleaned them and ran them both before actually using them. Both good quality (now that they’re clean). Any of the neighbors we’ve met have been extremely friendly. And every time I leave the building, I realize I’m smiling at what I see in this wonderful city. So much exploring to do.
Most importantly, the cats seem to love the apartment. More space to explore. Longer halls to race down. I go out on the terrace with them, which they love. We’ll soon get it enclosed for their constant use. And they still get six treats a day (seven yesterday because they tricked me).
Bueno, la verdad es que todavía no lo veo con claridad, pero la mesa del comedor y la del bar ya están vacías y ya podemos arreglar los muebles. Por desgracia, mañana tengo que ir a Málaga para ver al nefrólogo, así que habrá que esperar hasta el jueves, pero estamos avanzando y se nos ocurren cosas que nos gustaría comprar (suspiro).
Ayer conocimos a nuestra nueva médica de salud pública. Tengo que llevarle mis documentos más recientes (resultados de laboratorio e informe) de mi médica de Málaga. Entonces podrá derivarme a un nefrólogo de aquí. Todavía estoy esperando una llamada de un nefrólogo de Salud Pública de Fuengirola. La última vez que estuve allí me dijeron que podría tardar hasta 10 meses. Han pasado casi 5. Espero que Córdoba esté mejor. Parece prometedor. Pedí mi próxima cita con la médica de aquí y se disculpó porque la fecha más próxima disponible era en 10 días. Nuestras espaldas están mejorando, pero lentamente.
San Geraldo tiene una cita esta noche para una ecografía, solo para estar seguros. Aunque nos duele la espalda y estamos enterrados entre cajas, papeles, bancos, médicos, ayuntamiento, cambios de dirección y demás, los dos coincidimos en que nos encanta Córdoba.
El domingo por la noche nos invitaron a cenar al apartamento de Mauricio y Diego. Cenamos muy agradablemente y vimos el atardecer desde su terraza. Viven a media hora andando de nosotros. Normalmente, disfrutaría de eso, pero la espalda me dolía con cada paso. ¡Taxi!
El lavavajillas funciona. La lavadora funciona. Los limpié y los puse a funcionar antes de usarlos. Ambos son de buena calidad (ahora que están limpios). Todos los vecinos que hemos conocido han sido extremadamente amables. Y cada vez que salgo del edificio, me doy cuenta de que estoy sonriendo por lo que veo en esta maravillosa ciudad. Tanto por explorar.
Lo más importante es que a los gatos parece encantarles el apartamento. Más espacio para explorar. Pasillos más largos para correr. Salgo con ellos a la terraza, que les encanta. Pronto la cerraremos para que la usen constantemente. Y todavía reciben seis golosinas al día (siete ayer porque me engañaron).
• Al otro lado de la calle. Conservando lo antiguo con lo nuevo. Imaginen los pies que pisaron esas piedras.
• Atardecer desde la noche del domingo en casa de Diego y Mauricio.
¿Un edificio cubierto de piel? (En realidad, césped de plástico negro).
• Ofrecen fisioterapia y mucho más.
• Moose: “¡¿Qué?!”
• Dudo: “¡¿Qué?!”
• Al fondo el Hotel Córdoba Center. ¡Bienvenida gay!
