Things seem to have settled down around here. I’ve not yet had any new disasters or petty annoyances. Saturday ended well, although I never got around to blogging. My computer problem overwhelmed me. I knew what I had to do, but with each little snag I grew more frustrated. It wasn’t recognizing my Apple password. So, per instructions, I changed the password and that worked fine on both my iPad and iPhone. However, it still didn’t work on my iMac. I then followed other recommended fixes to no avail. There were a couple of options remaining but by then I had thrown my hands in the air.
San Geraldo offered to take a fresh look and, between the two of us, he was able to get it going again. It was mostly down to SG and a cool head, but I did help with a key element that made it possible, so I didn’t feel completely useless. By then, San Geraldo had completed the assembly of the new kitchen display cabinet. Now we, mostly I, just have to get it filled and organized. That means that everything else that might possibly go inside is sitting on the dining room table after being freed from wherever we had things stashed.
The weather is back to normal for Córdoba. Blue skies, sunshine, and temperatures reaching 22C/72F. The fountains are flowing and the parks reopened after clean-up of downed trees and branches, and attentive trimming of what remains. What a difference some sunshine makes. I’ll be out enjoying it this afternoon given that the morning is gone.
We get to FaceTime with Matt and Lindy this evening. That makes any day happy.
Since so many of you insisted, I’ve grudgingly included a beardless photo of me. It reminds me of the ditty sung to the tune of the Mexican Hat Dance, “I’m careless the Mexican Hairless. I’m hairless because I am careless.” In a couple of days there’ll be enough stubble to make me feel less naked.
Parece que las cosas se han calmado por aquí. Todavía no he tenido nuevos desastres ni pequeñas molestias.
I’m careless the Mexican Hairless. I’m hairless because I am careless”. (Soy Descuidado el perro pelón mexicano. Soy pelón porque soy descuidado.) En un par de días tendré suficiente barba para sentirme menos desnudo.

• La elegante fuente de los Jardines de la Merced.

• Trabajo en progreso.
• It’s fast-growing, but it can’t grow back fast enough. I wasn’t smiling inside.
• Crece rápidamente, pero no puede volver a crecer lo suficientemente rápido. No estaba sonriendo por dentro.

I like the new cabinet, and the new face! I do like a clean shaven face. So even if you’re not a fan, Boud is.
Boud:
Thanks for liking my face. At least someone does!
I like the clean-shaven you! (Though I can see the appeal of growing a beard, because shaving is in itself a miserable task.) What’s with all the downed branches? Did bad weather strike after we left?
Steve Reed:
Really, the bearded face is not much easier. I have to trim every few days and should shave around it every day anyway. The branches are a collection of what fell all around the neighborhood and had to be piled up, plus what was hanging broken from trees and also what needed to then be lopped off to make the trees safe again.
Nekkid face Mitchell!! I haven’t seen my face fully nekkid since 2000!!
I loathe computer that cannot be fixed within a minute; my frustration builds almost instantly.
Glad your weather is better though it looks like a lot of cleanup out there.
Bob:
I used to see my naked face regularly. In recent years, I’ve preferred to not see it!
What an ole smoothie you are!!
The sunshine makes ALL the difference, enjoy.
Jim:
It’s another beautiful day today. Can’t wait to feel the sune on my stubbly face.
I hope you find someplace in the sunshine to sit and recharge your solar power. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have a beard, 15 years or so. I have only shaved the mustache once in my adult life, an interview with Disney Development in the early 90’s.
David:
I realized I’ve been without the beard many times since we moved to Spain, but I like it less and less now. It’s already stubbly.
Sunshine on all that newly-denuded skin! Spring is the time for renewal all round, it seems.
Jx
PS the new cabinet looks great. Well done, SG!
Jon:
I’m still having fun with the cabinet. Going out to look for a couple more plate stands today.
Wow, all that debris. Looks like the aftermath of a hurricane. I didn’t realize you shave off the beard, thought just the mustache. Funny how we get used to seeing ourselves and then are kind of shocked when a major change happens.
Nice new cabinet.
ellen abbott:
The accident was with the mustache but I hate a beard without a mustache. So it all had to go. I remember having a mustache and/or beard when I was in my 20s and then shaving and looking like I was 12. Not anymore!
I LOVE the new cabinet. It’s utilitarian, simple, and graceful with clean lines.
Mitchell, you’re just a handsome man no matter what the facial hair situation is.
We are having blue skies like that too, today, but it is getting cooler again. I will look back on this in August and sigh.
Ms. Moon
Ahhh, I’m so glad that sunshine has returned!
Judy C:
Wishing you sunshine, too!
Ms. Moon:
The cabinet suits what we’ve done in the kitchen and we love how it finishes things off. And, oh, if only I had your eyesight (or maybe it’s vision). And, yeah, we’ll be looking back on this in August and sighing, too.
Nice assortment of photos this morning! Nice to see blue skies.
Rade:
The apartment is filled with natural light this morning. Yay!
Thank you for sharing the nekkid face (good southern term from Bob). I think you look fine without. Do you think your computer issues were related to the Tahoe upgrade? I still haven’t taken that plunge.
Kelly:
I hadn’t thought about the Tahoe upgrade. There was just a second “fix” upgrade. That’s a possibility. Don’t get used to the nekkid face. It’s going. Fast!
Yes, your smile DOES look a little forced, lol! But you look great, even without your face fur. And I like the new cabinet too — very attractive!
Debra:
I’m still not used to seeing my naked face and I’m glad I won’t have to much longer. A few more days and I’ll be into the “cool” stubble look.
Beard or no beard, you’re still a handsome devil! 🙂 Mary
Mary:
Ugh! But thanks.
I like your clean shaven face, Scoot! You look at least 10 years younger, so SG better keep his eye on you, LOL!
Tundra Bunny:
Thanks. I wouldn’t mind looking 10 years younger but I really don’t like myself without facial hair.
Those trees are a little too big for those trash receptables.
Kirk:
And if they don’t fit, they won’t be picked up! (No, that’s not true about anything here. If it’s there, they’ll take it.)
That should be “trash receptacles”
Kirk:
I love saying receptables!
Oh, so much damage to be cleared! Glad the sun is back and the cabinet looks great. Don’t get me started on computer glitches….Olivia
Olivia:
These computer glitches are so frustrating. And I just don’t have the patience for them. I get so quickly overwhelmed. Lots of damage from the storms and then there’s all the trimming to be done.
We also have the sun back…..I am sitting at the computer holding a piece of paper draped over my head ( or leaning down to type) as at this time of day and year the sun comes in the velux windows straight in to my eyes!!
I like the beard better BTW.
Frances
Frances:
I definitely like the beard better and it’s quickly returning. SG has IKEA dish towels that can just be plopped on the head. Easier than holding a piece of paper up.
I only knew my husband with a beard until one day I came home and he met me at the door, beardless. I didn’t recognize him, I thought he was the cousin who he told me about who looked like him. I loved him with the beard but sadly he never grew it back. Gigi
Gigi:
Too bad for you he never grew it back. I love the videos of kids seeing their fathers for the first time without a beard… and crying.
Love the garden of la Merced, such a peaceful place and elegant. As for you, you look like a young student you see in a Cafe reading Sartre.
