The title is your Spanish lesson for the day. Present tense. I’ve been feeling so lousy that San Geraldo had to wash the dishes last night. I didn’t even have the energy to carry mine to the kitchen.
This morning, I went back to bed after breakfast and woke up a couple of hours later feeling almost human. No fever. I seem to be on the mend and I think I even have the energy to take a shower. I may not have been up for stretching or exercise recently but, after all the coughing, I have abs of steel. Here are some photos from my day at the Poets’ Garden. It looks like a charming place to live.

Now THOSE are window boxes!
Loving that Crown of Thorns as well.
And the rock/brickwork always catches my attention.
Good to hear you may be recovering…..now take it easy and don’t push too hard/geez, I sound like a grandmother!! lol
Jim:
I was blown away by those window boxes. Couldn’t push hard if I tried.
The Old Wall — love that photo. What a piece of living history! And the Poets’ Garden is so beautiful. Every city should pay homage to poets with a garden like that! Which reminds me, April is National Poetry Month.
Debra:
How appropriate that I learned about the Poets’ Garden during Poetry month.
Glad you are feeling better. Those flower boxes on the balconies are amazing! All geraniums?
ellen abbott:
I was wowed by those flower boxes. So beautiful.
Yes. I could happily live in that flower house. Those geraniums are exquisite. And I love the ebullient palm blossom. It is screaming “LIFE!”
I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better but don’t try and push it too hard in the recovery process. As Glen’s mother used to say, “You’ll go back on yourself.” Okay? Okay.
Ms. Moon
Ms. Moon:
I have no intention of going back on myself. (I never heard it put that way.) I continue to improve, but not fast enough. Today I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself… well, more like hopeless.
Oh no. Not hopeless. That makes me so sad.
Your pictures alone are so pretty that should have cheered you up. Poets Garden, it looks like a place I’d like to live. And if I lived closer I will come over and cheer you up. I’m glad to read you’re feeling better and on the mend . Truly some pretty pictures in this post.
Mistress Maddie:
It does help me, too, to look at the photos. Not thrilled that I haven’t been out in days. Soon!
The window boxes are huge and wonderful! The cold drags on, and you can’t rush it, particularly since you have other health issues. I had a tired chest wall from the coughing, but abs of rice pudding more than steel. Boud
Boud:
It DOES drag on. Improving daily, but not fast enough. It’s getting to me.
Oh, my, my, my 🙂 Thank you for these beautiful photos. I needed them this morning.
I’m so glad to hear that you are on the mend. When you’re too weak to even carry your dishes into the kitchen, that’s rough. Must have been the fever (we don’t usually get fever with a cold, right?) Hoping you are truly on the mend, Mitch.
Judy C:
I think a low-grade fever is not unusual with a cold. The worst appears to be over, but complete recovery is slow and I’m not very patient. I’m enjoying looking at the photos from my recent walks.
I love those window boxes or balcony boxes or whatever!
And I love that old wall with the repairs. In Camden, they have taken a void that was sealed off between two buildings and made it a walkway to a back parking lot. But the two buildings still show evidence of doors and windows that have been bricked over. Nowhere near as ancient as yours but I love seeing a glimpse of the way the buildings once looked!
Bob:
I’ve always loved those old walls of any vintage. I love how they’ve been restoring these and not just slapping on patches.
I’m glad you’re feeling better. It won’t kill SG to do the dishes now and again. (You can tell him I said that. 🙂 )
Look at those geraniums! WOW!
Steve:
Those window boxes made my day. Glorious. SG didn’t complain once about doing the pots and pans, and loading the dishwasher.
These beautiful windows with masses of flowers is such a delight. We are not there yet.
larrymuffin:
I’ve been missing some major blossoming this week by being stuck in the house. I’m grateful I can see rose gardens from up here.
Those are mighty impressive window boxes!
You should mention your fatigue (which is not the same as being tired) to the doctor. It might just be a symptom of one of your conditions. I know dealing with life lately hasn’t made things any better for you.
Kelly:
I think my resistance was even lower thanks to the stress around here. Getting better slowly.
Gorgeous geraniums! I have yet to kill one of those. Hugs, Scoot. Feel better.
Deedles:
People DO kill geraniums. You should be proud.
Those gorgeous flower boxes lifted my spirits, Scoot! Our last snow dump from an Alberta clipper just melted yesterday, but more snow is forecast for Wednesday. I hope SG made you some chicken soup — feel better soon!
Tundra Bunny:
SG did make me a variation on his chicken soup. It was the day I could barely eat. I can’t believe you’re still having snow (well, I can believe it, but I’m so sorry).
Glad that you’re feeling better.
Kirk:
Heading in the right direction. Thanks.
Fingers crossed that this is the end of the crud. Thanks for still sharing the daily beauty you encounter. Olivia
Olivia:
I’m feeling kind of pathetic, but glad to be improving.
Glad to hear it sounds like you will live. There are so many walks waiting for you to visit them.
David:
Yes, I do think I’ll live. I’m about to go outside for the first time. Just around the corner, but it’s something!
Your photos are always colorful and beautiful and make me feel good.
Urspo:
Glad to know it.
Beautiful gardens!
Rade:
A very nice spot to live I think.
