It wasn’t a huge parade, more a big, joyous march to be proud of. Saturday, I walked the three minutes to the Palace of the Merced where people were getting ready for the 8 p.m. start of the Pride march. It was uplifting just to see the gathering. It turns out I could have joined right in myself, but San Geraldo was cooking dinner and I wasn’t feeling as social and outgoing as I would have needed to feel. The smiles I got from some of my photo subjects and other participants made things better. All ages were in attendance and that was especially heartwarming. Lots of smiles, no attitude. A number of videos today but less than 7 minutes in total if you have the time to watch.
I’ve got to start planning what I’m taking on the Cristina-Alfonso wedding trip this week. Plus, I need to get out today and buy that belated birthday gift for 7-year-old Maria. Laundry has been going daily to stay a step ahead. I just looked at the date and realized tomorrow’s my birthday. Time rolls (drags) on.
No fue un desfile enorme, más bien una gran y alegre marcha de la que estar orgulloso. El sábado, caminé tres minutos hasta el Palacio de la Merced donde la gente se preparaba para el inicio de la marcha del Orgullo a las 8 p.m. Fue inspirador solo ver la reunión. Resulta que podría haberme unido yo mismo, pero San Geraldo estaba cocinando la cena y no me sentía tan sociable y extrovertido como hubiera necesitado sentirme. Las sonrisas que recibí de algunos de los sujetos de mis fotos y otros participantes lo mejoraron todo. Había gente de todas las edades y eso fue especialmente conmovedor. Muchas sonrisas, sin mala actitud. Varios videos hoy, pero menos de 7 minutos en total si tienen tiempo para verlos.
Tengo que empezar a planear qué llevaré en el viaje de bodas de Cristina y Alfonso esta semana. Además, necesito salir hoy a comprar ese regalo de cumpleaños atrasado para María, que tiene 7 años. Lavo la ropa a diario para ir un paso por delante. Acabo de mirar la fecha y me di cuenta de que mañana es mi cumpleaños. El tiempo avanza (se arrastra).

• No estoy seguro de lo del estilo nativo americano, pero me encantan los mocasines.
• GLAM es una discoteca alternativa con espectáculos de transformistas y fiestas temáticas.
• Me encantaron las dos de atrás. De hecho, le dijeron al tipo de delante que bajara el volumen.

I love it! Feels very much like Philly’s if you can believe that! I love both the silver high heeled boots, and could wear them. I sometimes think I walk better in high heels, lol! Glad you got out. It looked festival! I’ll be headed to New York’s Pride the last weekend.
I also have a wedding reception I’m heading to on Saturday! At the Hotel Hershey. They opted for a reception party for friends and family and already got married in a quite ceremony just the two of them.

My mother lived in heels, even her slippers, most of her life. She was so used to them that she felt (and looked) like she was going to fall over backwards without them.
Oh lord, the shoes!!!! I’d be over seven-feet-tall in those things … hmmmmmmmm.

It’s said that Córdoba is such an inclusive city that the need for a huge sponsored parade isn’t needed. But there’s a huge Pride celebration in Madrid.
I like the marching/performing groups the best, I think, although they are all wonderful in their own sparkling ways.
And I wish you the happiest sparkling birthday, dear Mitchell. Wish I could celebrate you with you.

I’ve tried drag at one time, not as a performer but as a customer where drag was being performed. While with makeup I didn’t make a bad-looking female, I could never master walking in high-heel shoes, and eventually just wore pretty-looking flats. Those platform shoes certainly would have been out of the question!

I never had the guts or confidence to try drag. I can’t imagine what I would look like now. And I don’t think I’d risk those heels except maybe to pose for a photo! Any photos of you in drag?
