Some of you already know about the day of the Bloggers in New York City. David (Travel Penguin) and his husband, J (the on-again off-again blogger known as Wicked Hamster), trained up to New York so we could enjoy a meal together. David suggested we gather some others, and Sean (Sassybear) and his husband, Jeffrey, took the train down from near Albany. We all met for lunch at an excellent Italian Restaurant on W. 47th Street selected by Sean called Trattoria Trecolori.
David, J, and I got together once before in New York, once in Washington D.C., and even here in Málaga and Fuengirola. This was our first time meeting Sean and Jeffrey in person and they were a delight — warm, kind, funny, enlightened, interesting. I wish we all had more time together and I look forward to the next time. Sean and Jeffrey are famous for their enjoyment and making of martinis. David joined them. J and I abstained. But they sure looked good (and so did their martinis).
After lunch, I walked around nearby Times Square. Walking around Times Square isn’t like it was in the old days. I didn’t make a cent. I then walked back up Sixth Avenue to catch the subway because I knew it would be less crowded up there.
David arrived bearing gifts. He knows the quickest way to my heart. Chocolate. I still have some left.
Algunos de vosotros ya conocéis el día de los Bloggers en la ciudad de Nueva York. David (Travel Penguin) y su marido, J, el bloguero intermitente conocido como Wicked Hamster, se entrenaron hasta Nueva York para poder disfrutar de una comida juntos. David sugirió que reuniéramos a algunos más, y Sean (Sassybear) y su esposo, Jeffrey, tomaron el tren desde cerca de Albany. Nos reunimos todos para almorzar en un excelente restaurante italiano en W. 47th Street seleccionado por Sean llamado Trattoria Trecolori.
David, J y yo nos juntamos una vez en Nueva York, una vez en Washington D.C. e incluso aquí en Málaga y Fuengirola. Esta fue la primera vez que conocimos a Sean y Jeffrey en persona y fueron un placer: cálidos, amables, divertidos, ilustrados e interesantes. Ojalá todos tuviéramos más tiempo juntos y espero con ansias la próxima vez. Sean y Jeffrey son famosos por disfrutar y preparar martinis. David se unió a ellos. J y yo nos abstuvimos. Pero esos seguramente se veían bien (y también sus martinis).
Después del almuerzo, caminé por la cercana Times Square. Pasear por Times Square ya no es como en los viejos tiempos. No gané ni un centavo. Luego caminé de regreso por la Sexta Avenida para tomar el metro porque sabía que allí habría menos gente.
David llegó con regalos. Él conoce el camino más rápido a mi corazón. Chocolate. Todavía me queda algo.
