I’m shortly to head out for a bit of a walk (a wee walk as Connor and Maureen would say) just to do some shopping. It’s around 40˚C/104˚F and, yes, it’s too hot to be walking anywhere. But I’ll take it slow and wear my cap. I planned to get out earlier when it was a lot cooler, but didn’t feel up to it. So I’ll just make myself ill by going out in the late afternoon. No I won’t. I promise I’ll be careful. Maybe I’ll stop at an air-conditioned cafe for something cool to drink.
I do plan to take some pictures along the way. There’s always something interesting to see, although there are a lot less people in town. I haven’t been down near the mezquite where all the tourists congregate. I have a feeling it’s busier there.
We’ve been spending a lot more time at home with the cats and they love it. They follow us around. They flirt. And they’re over the moon when one of us decides to have a siesta. Dudo regularly leads me into the bedroom and tries to get me to lie down. I cuddle with him, but I don’t lie down. I don’t need the encouragement. Moose walks in front of us and plants himself strategically so we have to stop and pet him.
I did (not) read the news today. (Oh boy.)
Dentro de poco saldré a dar un paseo (un paseíto, como dirían Connor y Maureen) solo para hacer algunas compras. Hace unos 40 °C/104°F y, sí,hace demasiado calor para caminar. Pero iré despacio y me pondré la gorra. Planeaba salir antes, cuando hacía mucho más fresco, pero no me apetecía. Así que me voy a enfermar saliendo a última hora de la tarde. No, no lo haré. Prometo tener cuidado. Quizás me detenga en una cafetería con aire acondicionado a tomar algo fresco.
Planeo tomar algunas fotos por el camino. Siempre hay algo interesante que ver, aunque hay mucha menos gente en el pueblo. No he estado cerca del mezquite donde se juntan todos los turistas. Tengo la sensación de que hay más gente allí.
Hemos estado pasando mucho más tiempo en casa con los gatos y les encanta. Nos siguen a todas partes. Coquetean. Y se ponen contentísimos cuando alguno decide echarse una siesta. Dudo me lleva a menudo al dormitorio e intenta que me acueste. Me acurruco con él, pero no me acuesto. No necesito que me animen. Moose camina frente a nosotros y se planta estratégicamente para que tengamos que detenernos y acariciarlo.
(No) he leído las noticias hoy. (¡Oh chico!).
