Bring On The Chocolate, We Need A Boost

Today was an extremely busy day. San Geraldo got a late start baking a birthday cake for our friend Tynan. I cleaned the house. San Geraldo made a mess in the kitchen.

I washed dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and then went back to cleaning the house.

San Geraldo made another mess in the kitchen. I cleaned some more. I skyped with My-Mother-the-Dowager-Duchess and The Kid Brother. An hour later, I went back into the kitchen to clean up another San Geraldo mess. This time clean-up included washing his leather slipper. (Click any image to sweeten things up.)

I continued cleaning, doing laundry, taking down recycling. San Geraldo continued making a mess of the kitchen, but finished the cake. He changed his clothes. I cleaned the kitchen. (It’s amazing how far a cocoa cloud can travel from the ‘chimney’ of a food processor.)

Moments later, Tynan, Elena, and the kids arrived and we enjoyed their exceptional company as we all OD’d on two-layer chocolate cake with cream cheese apricot filling, chocolate frosting an inch thick, and all adorned with almonds, chocolate-dipped apricots, and a sort-of chocolate tiara. San Geraldo made it up as he went along. Of course, it was amazing.

CHOCOLATE-DIPPED APRICOTS.
THE TWO LAYERS.
THE FINISHED PRODUCT.
(WHAT WAS LEFT WENT HOME WITH THE BIRTHDAY BOY.)

You need some chocolate…
