Is forever enough? / ¿Es suficiente para siempre?

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

Today is San Geraldo’s birthday. I sang to him before I went to bed and gave a condensed version of the song this morning. Tonight we’ll go out to dinner and we plan to have a little celebration later in the week. I can’t believe how many birthdays we’ve celebrated together. If I ever had made a wish for myself when I blew out my own birthday candles (not something I did), he would have been it.

Here is a small selection of photos of San Geraldo over the years, beginning with the one above which was a few years before we met and ending with the earliest photo we have of the two of us together. As The Chicks so beautifully put it in today’s video: “How long do you wanna be loved? Is forever enough ’cause I’m never, never giving you up.”

Hoy es el cumpleaños de San Geraldo. Le canté antes de acostarme y esta mañana le di una versión condensada de la canción. Esta noche lo llevaré a cenar y planeamos hacer una pequeña celebración más adelante durante la semana. No puedo creer cuántos cumpleaños hemos celebrado juntos.

  1. Happiest of Birthdays San G. How interesting your birthday is so close to Valentine’s Day. Makes me think you were born to be a Valentine Day gift to your mom and our Mitchell.

  2. Oh, how I love those Chicks and how I love your love! What a gorgeous man he is and what a gorgeous man you are. Happy birthday to your love. Nothing is better than longtime love. Is forever enough? I guess it’ll have to do.

Even in our lowest times, it’s something we’re grateful for. And I adore everything about The Chicks.

    1. Debra:
I can’t say I pampered him completely but I did OK. And there’s more to come later in the week.

  3. My lands, doesn’t matter what time a life it was San Geraldo is handsome. As you both are.Hell…in that last picture you two could have Colt porn* models!!! Wish him a very Happy Birthday from me!!!

    1. Mistress Borghese:
He has always been something else. My mother said he was more handsome than Tom Selleck. We actually met a Colt photo shoot! I began my career as a fluffer. The rest is history.

  4. What a handsome man!! You two are blessed to have each other. Give SG my best wishes for a wonderful birthday and may he have many more! I hope y’all enjoy his special day.

    1. Kelly:
We did have a great day and dinner yesterday. And more to come this week. And I agree. He IS handsome.

  5. Happy Birthday Gerry, 75 years young, great to see how well you guys are doing. Stay healthy and happy

  6. Hope your birthday is a happy and memorable one, San Geraldo! And Mitchell’s juxtaposition of your 3D princess photo with one of you asleep on a bench is adorable and endearing!

    1. Tundra Bunny:
SG didn’t remember the princess photo and first insisted it wasn’t him. He looked down at his own chest for proof.

  7. Happy Birthday, SG. Love the pictures of him through the years. It is a true luxury to “grow old” together. I remember telling Jeffrey I couldn’t wait until we’d celebrated 5 Christmases together, because that seemed like such a long time. Now, 26 Christmases later, those first 5 years seem like a blip.

    1. Sassybear:
That’s so true. We had a huge bash for our 1st anniversary. I don’t think we even imagined 42.

You’re not late. You may have missed the day, but he celebrates for a month.
