SAN GERALDO AND I are pretty much incompatible when it comes to sleeping together. We’ve tried over the years. Sometimes it’s worked, but not for long. He likes it hot. I like it cold. I sleep with nothing on, rarely even a top sheet. He likes weight and can sometimes sleep under three blankets.
If he wakes up during the night, which he often does, he turns on the lights and reads. If I wake up during the night, which I often do, I can’t turn on a light or read or I might be up for the rest of the night.
He snores. I sometimes do, too.
When we were both working, I would grind my teeth in my sleep. It kept him awake and left me aching in the morning. I also had restless leg syndrome, which would wake San Geraldo with a start during the night (and me, too, sometimes).
I sleep with four pillows and I’m an active sleeper; I move all over the bed. Pillows end up on the floor or under my feet. Even the cats won’t get too close to me when I’m asleep.
Unlike us, Dudo and Moose are very compatible sleepers. However, when they’re awake they can be brutal. San Geraldo and I are always kind. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.)
I do wish we could be more like the cats.
Well we have been sleeping together for 40 yrs, I have the sleep of the innocent. Where Mr W is a very extra light sleeper. Nothing wakes me up I have slept through earthquakes. LOL!
Sorry, I don’t know who Anonymous is and I have a feeling i should! I’ve slept through an earthquake or two myself… but then we lived through so many in California!
