He’s not fine really / Él no está bien realmente

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

Well, we don’t know at this point where our vacation is headed. I’m off to meet Selma and Olav at the ferry — a 3-minute walk from the hotel. San Geraldo appears to be up for joining us for lunch after we visit the Museum of Natural History, a 13-minute walk from here. We were supposed to leave Bergen for the north tomorrow morning. We’ve extended our stay here — our presidential suite is still available — until Wednesday. At that point, if SG is feeling better, we head up to Sortland. If not, we’ll head home. We’re grateful we’ve been able to see some family while we’ve been here in Bergen. Other than that, SG has been miserable. I hope we can simply delay our trip north. I have more energy with each passing day and I’m about five days ahead of San Geraldo. I’m hoping he’ll start feeling the improvement. Today’s art is in no way biographical — well, maybe in some way.

  1. I am so sad to hear that SG is struggling to recover. Good that you are staying put for the moment so you can assess whether or not to continue the trip. Can only imagine how hard this is on you both. Hugs. xx

  2. Sorry to hear SG’;s still down. Nothing worse then being sick on a vacation because all you want is to be in your own bed!
Hopefully he rallies so he gets some semblance of a vacation!

  3. I’m so sorry to hear about SG – it’s a hell of a way to spend a vacation. Hope he can improve in the next day or two, as I’m sure you and he both do.

    1. Willym:
It’s been a difficult start, but looks like it might continue and end well. Thanks.

  4. One day at a time…..about all you both can do at this point.
Hope SG feels more himself soon.
    Sending positive/healing energy your way.

  5. Hey, Scoot, don’t scare me (I can only speak for me) with a heading like that! Look, you two are celebrating an anniversary in a few days, aren’t you? SG get some rest! Norway will always be there, but you need to take it easy. Nagging over. I just worry. I hear that tots and pears are good comfort foods. Just a thought 🙂
Ironically enough, I like that Grim Reaper thingy.

    1. Deedles:
Yes! We’ll now celebrate our 41st anniversary in Bergen instead of Sortland. Thanks for remembering. SG is sleeping.

  6. So sorry to know that Jerry is feeling lousy. I don’t think I missed any blog posts, but did you test positive earlier (because you said you were about 5 days ahead of Jerry in feeling sick, and better). I didn’t remember reading that you had tested positive. Did you home test, but it came up negative? but you feel like you both have had the same thing?

    1. Judy C:
I never tested positive, but our symptoms have been almost identical and he came down with it 5 days after I had my first symptoms.

  7. Oh no! I’m behind on your blog and I didn’t know you were both sick! That’s terrible! I hope you’re able to salvage your trip north. I’ll keep reading backwards to get the whole story.

    1. Steve:
We’re back on for the trip north and then there’s a trip further south after that. We should be energized by then.

  8. Love the last snap shot!!!! Being sick and unwell is never fun when home….and it’s even worst when traveling…you just want your own bed. No where like home. I sure hope San Geradlo feels better soon. A shame of all times to hit. Maybe send him a get well kiss from the Mistress. Maybe that’ll help?
