I walked to Sohail Castle (built by the Moors in 956 AD) and around the grounds yesterday afternoon. Nearly two and a half hours always on my feet and almost constantly on the move. Except for when I stopped to take these photos (and a couple more you’ll see another day). I have stories to tell, but I’ll let you enjoy the quiet instead.
.

¿Color?

• ¿O en blanco y negro?

I didn’t know you had Monk Parrakeets living in Fuengirola! I used to own one but sadly he died young.
We have Monk and rose-ringed parakeets in London! They’re all over Europe now. Jx
Jon:
Beautiful and entertaining but very invasive.
Jennifer:
Oh, yeah. All over Málaga. They present problems for local bird populations. The City of Málaga has been discouraging them.
Splash! Take us along and tell us stories anytime.
David:
High 70s and sunny today. Trying to decide where to take you.
I like both the black & white and the colour photo of the castle battlement.
Debra:
The light was so perfect at the time, which gave the stone a beautiful glow.
All part of the learning process…..SPLASH!
The Monk Parakeets look very inquisitive.
The B/W photo takes me to a different era thus adding to the subject’s story.
The colour photo accounts for its present context in time.
Would LOVE to watch that ‘dig’ in progress.
Jim:
The monk parakeets are smart, cute, and invasive. Just read more about the dig. Will share later today. I still owe you recipes!
Oh, no rush/pressure on the recipes. You have a lot on your plate lately.
Jim:
Thanks. I’ll try to remember today. I made myself a note!
Check out the expression on the face of the guy on the right. Enjoying the impending splash.
Color….definitely…
Jssw:
Yes! I thought that was hilarious.
Those parakeets really ARE taking over the world, but at least they’re pretty! I like the color version of your shadow pic.
Steve:
I think I lean towards the color version, too. The parakeets are pretty but very invasive. The City of Málaga is working on ways to discourage them.
When I go for walks, I only see castles and parrots in my imagination.
Love,
Janie
janiejunebug:
Lots of castles and parrots in reality around here.
Wonderful photos and I would also love to watch the Dig
cheers, parsnip
Parsnip:
I would love to be a part of the dig. Will share some of what I learned.
And fly a kite while you’re at it! LOL 🙂
Walt the Fourth:
Chuck would love that. And, why don’t you take a long walk off a short pier!
