I just want to rear my head briefly to let you know things are improving. The sciatica has been a bit less problematic each day for the past 4 days. Sitting doesn’t feel great, but I’m doing better. My language has eased off to delicate phrasing like: “Shit, shit shit, oh crap,” as opposed to the more colorful words in my repertoire (I love those “K” sounds). Recovery from the surgery is clearly a slow process. I’m healing beautifully. San Geraldo’s gentle ministrations have done the trick. I could get used to being waited on hand and foot (no, I couldn’t). Thanks for all the kind thoughts and wishes.
Yesterday was more daily record-breaking heat. The photo above was yesterday morning. People mostly just stood in the water. Air pollution levels were high (rare for here). So, I didn’t even go out on the terrace. Today is better, not quite as hot, clear skies. I’ll see what I can manage. Dudo is sleeping out there right now. I’ve sat long enough and am heading back to bed.
Me estoy curando maravillosamente.

Poor you darling
Anything I can rub for you ?
John,
Hmmm… give me a minute. Maybe I’ll think of something.
It is great to hear from you. I was starting to worry. Do you have a wicked scar?
Nurse Dudo at your service. He knows you are hurting.
Thanks for the update…..we were wondering how you were doing.
Good to hear! 😘
I see you have a tag-team of nurses, SG, Dudo and Moose. And good to know you’re feeling somewhat better.
Best to stay out of the heat … that’s what we’re doing here.
Keep up the good work and you’ll be frolicking in the surf, too!
I thought with that kind of surgery recover might be slow. That’s a tricky area for surgery. But I see the cats are keeping you entertained. The weather here’s been beautiful a bit warm mostly in the high 80s low 90s but I don’t really mind the Heat. Continue to take good care.
Mistress Borghese,
I normally don’t mind the heat, but it’s overwhelming right now. Thank god for the view.
Glad you’re well on the road to recovery. The whole world seems to be in a furnace. Not the summers we were used to.
Frank,
Summers here are usually manageable with great days between oppressive days. This shows no end in sight.
Glad things are slowly improving. Spectacular cat photos today!
Debra,
Photos are hit or miss right now. Thanks.
Forget those smiley face numbered pain charts. Cuss words are the penultimate measure of pain. Of course, being a true lady *cough* my words range from crappy doodle to fudge. Remember, Scoot, rest means REST! It must be nice to be cared for by a big, sweet semi-grumpy teddy bear. Of course, the kitties are in a care giving category of their own. Peace, sweetie.
Deedles,
I only said one cuss word that wasn’t “shit” today. One of those F words, ya know. SG is an angel. The cats don’t care. I’m simply a captive petting machine who won’t give them treats. I made my own breakfast today… and SG’s coffee! I’m back in bed. It was too much.
So sorry that this is such a painful recovery. Cats are amazing in their sensitivity to your illness. It is really good to have a nurse cat when you are sick.
Claudia,
I’d like to credit our sweet cats with their sensitivity. But I think they just like me being stuck in bed to pet them and keep them company.
Keep up the good resting 🙂 I’m glad your pain has moved from K sounds to other consonants 🙂
Judy C
Judy C,
Last night was one step back but it’s already one step forward again.
Glad to hear the healing is progressing. Love those kitties!
tobyo,
I love these boys.
Glad to hear you’re improving every day. Sending good thoughts.
So glad to hear all this. The skies just opened up here and are pouring like crazy. I have absolutely no problem with the rain ~ it clears the air and my soul. Namaste
Ron,
I love the rain!
Thanks for checking in AND for sharing kitty pictures. They’re much needed.
Stay out of the heat and pollution! The heat is terrible here, too. Florida has turned into hell because of trump and desantis.
Love,
Janie
janiejunebug,
Spain is going through its own US-inspired political craziness. Dammit!
Profanity offers a relief denied by prayer.
Urspo,
I sometimes pray for more creativity with my language. And then I remember a really good word!
Such handsome boys! (The cats, I mean, but of course it applies to you and SG too. 🙂 )
Steve,
At least the cats will agree with you.
