The days are just packed / Los días están repletos de actividades

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

Four days and three nights in Fuengirola. I packed too much. Mine is the gray suitcase. San Geraldo is in basic black. Of course, two pair of his shoes and that’s the end of a suitcase. And yet we both forgot things. I never did get around to writing yesterday. There were places to go and people to see. It’s been a pleasure and the weather has been perfect. The city was booked up by the time we made our plans. So we’re staying in a funky, fun old hotel in the center of town. The check-in person was charmed and upgraded our room. It’s about a mile away but is spacious through a maze of halls and courtyards and footbridges, and has a large private terrace. I might video the walk. Maybe we’ll even catch glimpses of some of the tacky people. I’ll tell you more once we’re home. We head back Sunday evening.

Cuatro días y tres noches en Fuengirola. Llevé demasiadas cosas. La mía es la maleta gris. San Geraldo es la básica negra. Y aun así, a los dos se nos olvidaron cosas. Ayer no llegué a escribir.

  1. “A funky, fun old hotel in the centre of town” sounds far better than “a multi-storey hotel with swimming pools, a massive buffet, a tea dance, and activities for children, with a TUI rep sat in reception”!

We travel to Spain for a weekwith just hand luggage! I never understand why anyone takes so much gear with them on holiday… Jx

    1. Jon,
There’s still a swimming pool and a massive buffet. But it’s been ok. SG always takes too much, but being in a car this time made us feel even freer with packing. Silly, really.

  2. Sounds like you will have a great time. I always pack lightly, I guess it is from years of traveling with students and having to lug a suitcase around.

  3. Your hotel sounds like a place I would feel most comfortable in.
Packing? Oh, you mean that thing where you open a suitcase and fill it with everything in the closet which fits? I know how to do that.
    Have BIG fun!

    1. Ms. Moon,
I doubt you’d like this place. Funky but huge, and breakfast is an assault on the senses.

  4. I immediately recognized the title of your post — that book is popular in the school library where I worked! A private terrace is nothing to sneeze at. Looking forward to some photos of beach fashion. 🙂

    1. Steve:
I saw so many fashion disasters but I think I only have a couple of photos. Will go through them all and see what I managed. Too many hunks to mention!

  5. The luggage reminds me of work, where part of my job is taking them out of boxes and tagging them.

    1. Kirk:
I don’t know what work you do, but it sounds like they’re at least empty when you tag them.
