Jump in, let’s go / Salta, déjate llevar

We got home about 8 last night. The drive was easy although we were tired. The bed at the funky, old hotel was awful and neither of us slept well the three nights in Fuengirola. It’s 6 p.m. A bit late for a siesta, but I’m in need. I’ve kept myself awake long enough to sort through photos and get this post done.

The 2-hour drive is scenic and pleasant with little traffic until you near Málaga. Even then, we didn’t hit any problem areas on the way down. The visits with friends were so wonderful. It was hard to leave. Although I love Córdoba, Fuengirola was our home for nearly 13 years and the few friendships remaining are powerful and for life.

After thinning out what I considered the worst photos, I got down to 200. I’ve been going through those this afternoon. Today’s were taken on the way down Thursday. I haven’t yet reached my photos from Sunday’s return road trip. And, of course, there are all those in between. Stories, too. And now, to sleep, perchance to dream. Oh never mind. It’s almost 6:30.

The photo above is an Osborne bull. Read about him here.

Y ahora, a dormir, quizás a soñar. Oh, no importa. Ya casi son las 18.30.

  1. I had no idea that the two towns are that close together. And yet so different!
I’m glad you got to go, I’m glad you’re home and safe. I hope you’re sleeping peacefully in your own bed.

It is. If we weren’t so anxious to get there, and then to get home, I would have been stopping for photos. Some great views missed!

    1. Debra:
We both seem to be recovered from the awful bed. In addition to being tired, our bodies were aching. And I walked miles and miles and miles and miles and miles while there.

  2. I was thinking Fuengirola was hours away, for some reason. It could even be a day trip. Or several. It seems to have been a good time. Boud

    1. Boud:
We’ve done the trip in a day several times over the years. By train, it can be well under an hour to Málaga from here. Fuengirola is another 40+-minute train trip or a 20-minute drive from there.

  3. Welcome back! Looks like the roads were not too busy……just cruising down the highways.
