I’M WAITING FOR the sun to shine on the Costa del Sol or I’m going to request a name change to the Costa de la Lluvia (the Rain Coast). We usually at least have moments of sunshine. Not so these last two days. Our aloes in the hall have been “fixin’ to bloom” as they say in Texas, but they’d be a lot better fixed if the sun would come out. My mood has been like the recent weather (sunny one moment and cloudy the next) — these last two days, mostly cloudy. I’ve been on the same anti-depressant medication for more than five years and suspect that its effectiveness has petered out. So, I’m phasing off the old and phasing in the new. Hoping for sunshine inside and out.
ESTOY ESPERANDO QUE el sol brille en la Costa del Sol o voy a solicitar un cambio de nombre a la Costa de la Lluvia. Por lo general, al menos tenemos momentos de sol. No es así estos últimos dos días. Nuestros aloes en la entrada han estado “fixin’ to bloom”, como dicen en Texas (y significa “apunto de florecer”), pero serían mucho mejor si salía el sol. Mi estado de ánimo ha sido como el clima reciente (soleado en un momento y nublado al siguiente) — estos últimos dos días, principalmente nublados. He estado tomando el mismo medicamento antidepresivo durante más de cinco años y sospecho que su efectividad se ha agotado. Por lo tanto, estoy eliminando gradualmente el viejo y introduciendo gradualmente el nuevo. Esperando sol por dentro y por fuera.
