We’ll head out Thursday morning for an all-day adventure in the search for a new place to live. I won’t share any details at this point because so much can still change. But, we’ve been checking out some cities within a couple of hours of us. Once we’ve figured it out, I’ll share where we started in our heads.
We plan to meet with an estate agent tomorrow (more agents if that agent can’t show us listings from other agents). We’ve so far got 10 apartments on our list and are hoping to see perhaps 4. It will be a fun train ride.
We are both excited. Although San Geraldo is more stressed than excited and I’m more excited than stressed. That’s always the case when we move. We both love to move, but I tend to thrive during the process of discovery. In addition, this has been a tremendous distraction for me. Health problems? What health problems? This is when I start singing (in my head) “King of the Road.”
Speaking of health: I had my monthly appointment with the nephrologist yesterday and my lab work improved significantly this past month. Some of my numbers are still in the category of why-are-you-still-alive, but it’s looking so much better than last month. We’re hoping the trend continues. I’ll know more in early October.
Isabel is coming for a few hours during the day tomorrow to keep the cats company. And, of course, to give them two scheduled treats so they don’t feel abandoned. She calls herself their godmother. I tried to convince her to move with us, but she doesn’t think her husband would much like that.
Saldremos el jueves por la mañana para una aventura de todo el día en la búsqueda de un nuevo lugar para vivir. No compartiré ningún detalle en este momento porque todavía hay mucho que puede cambiar. Pero hemos estado viendo algunas ciudades a un par de horas de nosotros. Una vez que lo hayamos resuelto, compartiré dónde comenzamos en nuestras cabezas.
Planeamos reunirnos con un agente inmobiliario mañana (más agentes si ese agente no puede mostrarnos listados de otros agentes). Hasta ahora tenemos 10 apartamentos en nuestra lista y esperamos ver quizás 4. Será un viaje en tren divertido.
Ambos estamos emocionados. Aunque en San Geraldo hay más estrés que emoción y yo estoy más emocionada que estresada. Eso siempre pasa cuando nos mudamos. A los dos nos encanta mudarnos, pero yo tiendo a prosperar durante el proceso de descubrimiento. Además, esto ha sido una tremenda distracción para mí. ¿Problemas de salud? ¿Qué problemas de salud? En ese momento es cuando empiezo a cantar (en mi cabeza) “King of the Road”.
Hablando de salud: ayer tuve mi cita mensual con la nefróloga y mis análisis de laboratorio mejoraron significativamente el mes pasado. Algunas de mis cifras todavía están en la categoría de ¿por-qué-sigues-vivo?, pero parece que todo está mucho mejor que el mes pasado. Esperamos que la tendencia continúe. Sabré más a principios de octubre.
Isabel vendrá mañana unas horas durante el día para hacerles compañía a los gatos. Y, por supuesto, para darles dos aperetivos programadas para que no se sientan abandonados. Ella se considera su madrina. Intenté convencerla de que se mudara con nosotros, pero no cree que a su marido le guste mucho eso.
