TODAY’S TITLE IS FROM ONE of The Kid Brother’s many favorite old TV series, Gilligan’s Island. Another routine he made me perform with him last night is lifted from the Our Gang (Little Rascals) comedy “Love Business,” (1931):
Kid Brother: Well, what do you want?!? Me: Oh, I was just passing by; thought I’d drop in. Kid Brother: Just keep passing by til you come to the river and then drop in!
The Kid Brother hasn’t been very forthcoming in recent weeks when it comes to the mail. I think all the spelling has become too much pressure for him. I understand the feeling. Two weeks ago, he told me, “I got one right here with a penguin on it. From our friend up there [Nova Scotia], J-I-M.”
This week he told me he thinks he received one from me [he knows; he just says he thinks], but I would have to wait and see it in August. I told him I was excited about my flight to see him. He said, “Gilligan, you can’t fly!” I also told him we had a 2-hour meeting at the bank. He said, “Ya mean a 3-hour tour?” [again, Gilligan’s Island].
He then said for no apparent reason, “Shoulda called your butler!” [Lurch, The Addams Family, click here]. We talked for a half hour. He was in a great mood.
We have new palm trees in front of our building and across the street. There are still more to come, but today the City reached us with new trees.
Yesterday, as I neared home, I thought someone was flying a kite from the roof terrace of a penthouse. It turns out, they have a kite attached to a pole. It looks like a bird swooping and soaring. I hope it’s keeping the pigeons away.
Dudo only wants me to lounge with him today. It’s so nice to feel loved.

EL TÍTULO DE HOY ES de una de las series de televisión antiguas favoritas de El Hermanito, Gilligan’s Island [Isla de Gilligan]. Otro que Otra rutina que me hizo actuar con él anoche se extrae de la comedia Our Gang (Little Rascals), “Love Business” [el negocio del amor], (1931):
Hermanito: Bueno, ¿qué quieres tú?!? Yo: Oh, estaba de paso; Pensé en entrar. Hermanito: ¡Sigue pasando hasta que llegues al río y luego entra!
El Hermanito no ha sido muy comunicativo en las últimas semanas en lo que respecta al correo. Creo que toda la ortografía se ha convertido en una presión excesiva para él. Entiendo el sentimiento. Hace dos semanas, me dijo: “Tengo uno aquí mismo con un pingüino. De nuestro amigo allá arriba [Nueva Escocia], J-I-M.”
Esta semana me dijo que cree haber recibido uno de mí [lo sabe; él solo dice que piensa], pero yo tendría que esperar y verlo en agosto. Le dije que estaba emocionado por mi vuelo para verlo. Él dijo: “¡Gilligan, no puedes volar!” También le dije que teníamos una reunión de dos horas en el banco. Dijo: “¿Te refieres a un recorrido de 3 horas?” [de nuevo, Gilligan’s Island].
Luego dijo sin razón aparente: “¡Debería haber llamado a su mayordomo!” [Lurch, The Addams Family (La familia Addams), haz clic aquí]. Hablamos durante media hora. Él estaba de muy buen humor.
Tenemos palmeras frente a nuestro edificio y al otro lado de la calle. Aún quedan más por venir, pero hoy la Ciudad nos llegó con nuevos arboles.
Ayer, cuando me acercaba a casa, pensé que alguien estaba volando una cometa desde la azotea de un ático. Resulta que tienen una cometa sujeta a un poste. Parece un pájaro volando en picado. Espero que mantenga alejadas a las palomas.
Dudo solo quiere que me relaje con él hoy. Es tan agradable sentirse amado.
• Palmeras nuevas y un chiringuito viejo en remodelación.
• Programar el sistema de anuncios públicos (o instalar un panel solar) al mismo tiempo que se plantaban las palmeras.
• Pasaron muchas cosas esta mañana.
