There’s not much to report from here today. I’ve been obsessed with my stupid foot surgery and am happy to be leaving for the hospital in a half hour. My next report will be to tell you how well it all went and how well my recover is going.
My special shoe that I’ll wear for the next month, I’m told, should have been delivered to the surgeon earlier today. An exceptional service. I went around the corner and picked up my very chic crutches that, I’m told, I’ll only need tonight after the surgery. But it’s a one-week rental — at only €10 for the week, so I’m covered.
I have an extra comforter folded at the bottom of the bed to keep my foot elevated. I’ve pretty much gotten the house organized for Isabel’s arrival tomorrow morning so poor San Geraldo doesn’t have to do it all. I’m hoping I’ll be up for going out for coffee and second breakfast tomorrow.
I made the mistake of reading some things online this morning and I’ve been stressing about the recovery pain ever since. I know (seriously, I know) it will be better than I expect. I’ll leave you with red crutches, today’s orange sunrise, and yesterdays blue sea colors.
No hay mucho que informar desde aquí hoy. He estado obsesionado con mi estúpida cirugía del pie y estoy feliz de irme al hospital en media hora. Mi próximo informe será para contaros qué tan bien ha ido todo y cómo va mi recuperación.
Me dijeron que el zapato especial que usaré durante el próximo mes debería haber sido entregado al cirujano hoy. Un servicio excepcional. Doblé la esquina y recogí mis muletas muy elegantes que, según me dijeron, solo necesitaré esta noche después de la cirugía. Pero es un alquiler de una semana, por sólo 10 € por semana, así que estoy cubierto.
Tengo un edredón extra doblado al pie de la cama para mantener el pie elevado. Ya he organizado la casa para la llegada de Isabel mañana por la mañana, así el pobre San Geraldo no tiene que hacerlo todo. Espero poder salir a tomar un café y un segundo desayuno mañana.
Cometí el error de leer algunas cosas en línea esta mañana y desde entonces he estado estresado por el dolor de la recuperación. Sé (en serio, lo sé) que será mejor de lo que esperaba. Los dejo con las muletas rojas, el amanecer naranja de hoy y los colores azules del mar de ayer.
