It’s 4:00 in the Morning / Son Las 4:00 de la Mañana

La versión español está después de la versión inglés.

IT’S 4 IN the morning and we’re off (we certainly are) to the airport for 10 days in Northern Norway. We’ll be as far south as Trondheim (which is not very far south) and as far north as Andenes (way above the Arctic Circle).

San Geraldo has research to do on his family history. I plan to explore, get some culture, and do some sketching… and of course photographing. And we get to see some of San Geraldo’s Northern Norwegian cousins — who are a joy. I’ll try to stay connected while we’re gone. Our house-sitter extraordinaire, Isabel, will stay with Dudo and Moose. We’ll miss the boys, but we’re sure to see lots of other moose in our wanderings. Sees snart!*

Sees snart*

Some Southern Norwegian cousins. They’ve moved north since we saw them in May 2017. So we get to see these little angels again!
Algunos primos noruegos del sur. Se mudaron al norte desde que los vimos en mayo de 2017. ¡Entonces podemos ver a estos angelitos nuevamente!
The rest of the family can’t contain their excitement.
El resto de la familia no puede contener su entusiasmo.

*“Sees snart” means See you later in Norwegian.
*“Sees snart” significa “hasta luego” en noruego.

I never realised that was your actual last name! So cool. I will forever think of you as Avalanche.

Day 1 has been great, although it’s 7:30 and we’re ready for bed! Trondheim is beautiful and the sun has been shining. We’ll see how long that lasts!

  1. Have a wonderful, spectacular time! And now that YOU’RE the tourists, be sure not to wear mismatched plaids, patterns and colours!

    1. Debra:
Lots of trendy shops in Trondheim. Lots of dark colours. And, since I didn’t bring my Fuengirola fashions, I guess I won’t be able to replicate it here.

  2. I am certain that you both will get a smile from ALL of the cousins!!
    Have fun and happy sketching!!

  3. I absolutely loved Norway on my visit coupla years back now – in 1973!
You lads have a fabulous time!

We love it here and it’s going to be great to visit places we’ve never seen. Trondheim is beautiful! Already did lots of walking today… most of it in our sleep. Tomorrow will be a big day for sightseeing.

    1. Cheapchick:
Sketched on the plane, like I used to do. Passenger I was sketching woke up and realised what I was doing. So, I stopped. But it was fun.

    1. Kirk:
Although we’re exhausted this evening Trondheim has already been a wonderful surprise. A beautiful place. And our first day was warm, clear, and sunny. What luck.

  4. Enjoy yourselves, guys! Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. Strike that, you may actually want to have fun 🙂

  5. Sorry I’ve been MIC (Missing In Commenting) lately but I have been reading faithfully. So first a much belated Happy Anniversary – you young kids!

We’ll be following you shortly but not as far north – if all goes to plan we will get as far as Alesund and the Fjords that fork off at that point on the coast. So looking forward to it.

Hope the visit is a good one and enjoy every minute of it.

    1. Willym,
It’s so beautiful here. And we have been blessed with blue skies, warm temps, and sunshine. But not for long, apparently… which is what we expected.

  6. Too too funny!
What is it with relatives from the distant past anyway?! LOL
Smiling is not permitted or esle!
Sketching is a must see, hear!

    1. Ron,
Have your you seen what happened in old photos when people couldn’t hold a pose? Scary!
