Negativity / Negatividad

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

There’s nothing wrong with a little negativity. I had breakfast, buzz-cut my head, trimmed my beard, and shaved — and went back to bed for an hour. San Geraldo picked up more Covid test kits and I tested negative.

SG has needed more packing boxes to ship some books. The place is difficult to find, so he was waiting for me to be well enough to go with him and give directions. We did that. Walking down the stairs for the first time in several days was a bit of a surprise. We drove into Málaga for the boxes, drove home in a brief downpour (glorious), and went to Mesón Salvador for lunch. It was mobbed with the end-of-summer crowd, but they happily accommodated us. Now we’re home. The cats are ecstatic and we’re both going to have a siesta. Dudo, especially, has gotten used to spending time in bed with me whenever he wants. There’ll need to be an adjustment. But not today.

I once read “Unless you’re a pregnancy test, take your negativity elsewhere.” Ditto Covid.

.

• I’m sure it was the Magnum Double Deluxe ice cream that did the trick. I had one entire container every night for the past three nights.
• Estoy seguro de que fue el helado Magnum Double Deluxe el que funcionó. Tuve un contenedor completo cada noche durante las últimas tres noches.
• My chicken stew croquettas. They stood in for chicken soup.
• Mis croquetas de pechero. Reemplazaron a la sopa de pollo.
• San Geraldo’s shrimp and avocado salad. I swear he gets it for the sweet corn.
• Ensalada deSan Geraldo, gambas y aguacate. Te juro que lo consigue por el maíz dulce.

  1. Recent studies at leading hospitals and major universities have confirmed the therapeutic effects of Magnum Double Deluxe for most diseases and afflictions. Truly, we live in an age of wonders.

  2. Thinking you must have had Covid at least several days before you tested first positive to get a negative result in just five days. It took me the full ten days to get a negative test and I wasn’t at home…I was in a London hotel needing a negative test to get back into the US even though my symptoms were mild and gone in about three days. No jealousy on my part. 🙁 However, I am happy for you to have tested negative.

Also understand the surprise doing stairs after a few days of little movement. My PT added a lot of new exercises to my routine (12 wks post surgery) this morning. Some with added weights. He told me I’d be hating him tomorrow. He’s wrong. I already hate him. 🙂

Nah, he’s a nice guy and I want the challenge. Sorta…pass the Magnum!

    1. Mary:
      Poor PTs. So hated.

I have no clue what’s gone on with Covid and me. I’m pretty sure I had it first when we were in Norway, but I never tested positive. This would appear to be a relapse. I wish I had YOUR symptoms and my few days of positive tests.

  3. Glad to hear this kind of negativity! I guess I know what I need to have on hand just in case–hey, maybe Magnum Double Deluxe is preventative, too. 🙂

    1. Michelle D:
Hmmm… Maybe I should have a pint of Magnum Double Deluxe every day from now on.

  4. so good to hear you’re negativ .Hope both of you will be “fit for fight” soon

    Big hugs. Elin

  5. Loving the food porn.

This morning, putting my shoes on to leave for work, Tuxedo crawled into my lap and promptly fell asleep. I debated far longer than I should have about calling in sick to work because I was suffering from Sleeping Cat On My Lap.

    1. Bob:
Oh, I would have called in. That’s love. Don’t leave me, Bob. Don’t leave me!

  6. Glad to see you’ve recovered from Covid: you look hale and hearty again! Who knew chocolate ice cream had such healing powers?

    1. Tundra Bunny:
Have you ever had Magnum Double Deluxe? Rich, dark chocolate ice cream encased entirely in a hard dark chocolate shell. And we all know dark chocolate is good for you. Not feeling so hale and hearty. Looking forward to getting back into shape after this dreary hiatus.

      1. No, I’ve never tried Magnum Double Deluxe as I’m not partial to dark chocolate. This bunny’s tastebuds prefer Swiss milk chocolate or anything with caramel in it. If I could drink caramel, I would, LOL!

      2. Tundra Bunny:
Try some Magnum Double Gold Caramel Billionaire. I love caramel. SG could drink it!

  7. We had tons of much needed rain today, so it was a good day to lounge when I got home. Good to hear your negative now…it may be some time till your energy returns. The highlight of my day was the sorbet I had tonight. The best I’d ever had. Very refreshing.

    1. Mistress Borghese:
I wish we would have tons of much needed rain. Spain’s reservoirs are at 36 percent. The rain we had didn’t even nourish the flowers. The lack of energy is frustrating and I don’t want to push it like I usually do. Tell about the sorbet. That cherry sorbet in Bergen was quite a surprise.

  8. I need to order croquetas de guiso de pollo in December, those look so good. Glad you are doing better. Take care, get lots of rest,

    1. David:
Just don’t learn how to speak Spanish from me. Out of lack of energy, I used Google translate for this post and didn’t bother checking it over. The croquetas are called croquetas de pechero. And, yes, you need to order them.
