We had a surprise visit from our friend from Glasgow yesterday. I’ve decided to simply call him Mr. Glasgow 2023. I think you’ll understand. He had texted saying he wanted to stop by and I hadn’t found the energy to make a plan. Obviously, if this Glaswegian arrives bearing gifts, welcome him with open arms. He brought flowers. And jelly beans!
San Geraldo answered the buzzer. He couldn’t tell who it was (our intercom is inconsistent). So first he spoke Spanish, then he spoke English. He buzzed him in but had no idea who was coming up. By that time I had arrived at the door to help and SG said, “I think he speaks English.” Yes, Glaswegian is close.

Send him to my door next. He doesn’t have to bother with the flowers and the jelly beans. Yowza!
Love,
Janie
janiejunebug:
We’re not ready to share.
You are very lucky to have such a friend!!!
sillygirl:
We sure are.
He’d perk up anyone’s day.
David:
Yes, he would!
Those jelly beans look good too!
mcpersonalspace54:
They are. Gourmet flavors.
Well, if that surprise visit doesn’t perk you up, nothing will!
Debra:
It sure helped.
How fabulous!
Judy C:
AND he teaches Spanish and French!
Several reasons to perk up!
Kelly:
He was a bright spot in the week.
Nice friends you guys have!
Jim:
Very lucky.
Who wouldn’t enjoy a surprise visit from such a handsome Glaswegian? And he’s brought jelly beans too!
Tundra Bunny:
He brought jelly beans and joy. Just what we both needed.
Wow! He could deliver his goods to my door anytime he likes..! Jx
And charming, too!ª
JellyBeans and Chests opps I mean good friends!
Ron:
Chests of jelly beans!
OMG, they are eye catching to say the last! 😉
I think his naked head looks better. He’s a cutie, and flowers with jellybeans just puts him over the top.
Deedles:
He’s our friend who is regularly late and once had the nerve to say “It’s hard having hair.” I’m sure the cap was very beach hair day.
“…hadn’t found the energy to make a plan.” “…welcome him with open arms”
Thank God you improvised!
Kirk:
The idea just came to me.
Oh my…
Walt the Fourth:
Oh yes.
I am thinking along the same lines as Janiejunebug. !!
Frances:
Should I ask if he rents out?
And I’m still trying to figure out why you didn’t think it was a good idea to send them to my house? I mean I like many of his, huh, well let’s just say…charms! I’m sure he’d be in good hands here with me. I hope you two are good hosts as I’m sure you were.
Mistress Borghese:
I thought you’d like him.
Well, hello there! If he came to my door I would CERTAINLY let him in, no matter what language he spoke!
Steve:
He can do posh English, as well. But the Glaswegian is the best.
On looks alone, I’d have let him in no matter which language he spoke.
Shirley:
Yeah, that’s pretty much the consensus. And he’s fluent in three languages (four if you count Glaswegian).
I am sure you get such visits all the time, jelly bean and al.
larrymuffin:
Not often enough!
I too would like him to drop by with gifts etc.
Urspo:
And he’s brilliant, too. So there could be conversation “after.”
