I HAD THE privilege of taking care of my pal Luke for a couple of hours on Saturday. We walked to Bioparc Fuengirola (the zoo). I’m honored to be trusted with Luke’s care and we had a truly wonderful day. I probably shouldn’t have let him eat that entire ice cream sandwich, but it was his first and he really liked it. Can you remember your first ice cream sandwich? I didn’t like it because it made my fingers dirty. It took me years to get over that (well, I STILL haven’t actually gotten over that). Luke managed to eat the entire thing, by himself, without messing up his hands and face. I’m telling you, the kid is gifted. Even the gorilla got his snack all over himself.

TUVE EL PRIVILEGIO de cuidar a mi amigo Luke por unas pocas horas el sábado. Caminamos hasta Bioparc Fuengirola (el zoológico). Me siento honrado de que se me haya confiado el cuidado de Luke y tuvimos un día verdaderamente maravilloso. Probablemente no debería haberle dejado comer todo ese sándwich de helado, pero fue el primero y realmente le gustó. ¿Te acuerdas de tu primer sandwich de helado? No me gustó porque ensuciaba mis dedos. Me tomó años superar eso (bueno, TODAVÍA no lo he superado). Luke logró comerse todo, solo, sin arruinar sus manos y su cara. Te lo digo, el niño está dotado. Incluso el gorila tiene su merienda sobre sí mismo.
