THE PEDAL BOATS KEEP ROLLING in before being dragged onto the beach. As I started my walk, I saw a group of guys pushing (and dragging) a dragon down the beach to join the car pedal boats already there.
As I continued my walk, I spotted two guys power-walking and then dropping and doing push-ups until burn-out, although one guy, a hunk, never did burn out. Wow. I thought the hunk was the other guy’s trainer and I wondered how many more minutes I’d have to work out to have a body like his. When I realized it might take several hours, I decided it wasn’t worth the effort.
On my way back nearly an hour later, I learned those two guys were part of the pedal boat team. One was pushing a flamingo down the street while the other, the studly one, smiled at the onlookers. He regularly ran up and gave the flamingo a powerful shove, which sent the bird nearly flying. He looked like he was enjoying himself (the guy, not the flamingo).

LOS BOTES DE PEDAL SIGUEN llegando antes de ser arrastrados a la playa. Cuando comencé a caminar, vi a un grupo de tipos empujando (y arrastrando) a un dragón por la playa para unirse a los botes de pedales que ya estaban allí.
Mientras continuaba mi caminata, vi a dos hombres caminando con fuerza y luego cayendo y haciendo flexiones hasta el agotamiento, aunque uno de los hombres nunca se cansó. Guau. Pensé que el galán era el entrenador del otro chico y me pregunté cuántos minutos más tendría que ejercitarme para tener un cuerpo como el suyo. Cuando me di cuenta de que podría llevar varias horas, decidí que no valía la pena el esfuerzo.
En mi camino de regreso casi una hora después, supe que esos dos tipos eran parte del equipo de botes a pedales. Uno empujaba un flamenco por la calle mientras el otro, el semental, sonreía a los espectadores. Regularmente corría y le daba al flamenco un poderoso empujón, que envió al pájaro casi volando. Parecía que se estaba divirtiendo (el tipo, no el flamenco).
