Another quick post before I settle in for a good night’s sleep. In my hospital bed. I’m doing fine. Just an infection. And heart failure.
That’s right. I spent 6 hours at Urgent Care today, during which I had a series of tests and finally learned the disappointing truth. When the doctor left after telling me I would have to be admitted and begin some IVs to resolve the current problems — the infection and the water retention (which has reached my arms) — I had to confirm with San Geraldo that she had in fact said “heart failure.” Yes, she had.
San Geraldo picked up some things for me from home. I’m finally in my room and he is back home with the cats. I hope he’s able to get a good night’s sleep. Honestly, neither of us was all that surprised by the news. We’ll do what we have to do. Don’t you worry and thanks for all the good thoughts.

Así es. Hoy pasé 6 horas en Atención de Urgencia, durante las cuales me hicieron una serie de pruebas y finalmente descubrí la decepcionante verdad. Cuando la doctora se fue después de decirme que tendría que internarme y empezarme unas intravenosas para solucionar los problemas actuales – la infección y la retención de agua (que me ha llegado a los brazos) – tuve que confirmar con San Geraldo que efectivamente me había dicho “falla cardiaca.” Sí, lo había hecho.
San Geraldo me recogió algunas cosas de casa. Finalmente estoy en mi habitación y él está de regreso en casa con los gatos. Espero que pueda dormir bien por la noche. Sinceramente, a ninguno de los dos nos sorprendió la noticia. Haremos lo que tenemos que hacer. No te preocupes y gracias por todos los buenos pensamientos.
