Our [once-]dear friend Pedro baked New York–style cheesecake (my favorite) the other day. Pedro is an excellent cook and baker. We met for dinner Thursday but Pedro forgot to bring us some (or so Kathleen said). Kathleen promised to call us Friday or maybe Saturday to meet for coffee at which time we would get to enjoy some cheesecake. Kathleen’s mother, Rebecca, couldn’t imagine the cheesecake would last that long. During lunch Saturday, I received a text message from Kathleen with the below photo and the comment, “It’s not my fault, for the record!”
Nuestro [una vez-]querido amigo Pedro cocinó una tarta de queso del estilo Nueva York (mi favorito) el otro día. Pedro es un excelente cocinero. Cenamos juntos el jueves pero Pedro se olvidó de traernos nuestros pedazos (o eso dijo Kathleen). Kathleen prometió llamarnos el viernes o el sábado para tomar café cuando nos traen nuestra tarta de queso. La madre de Kathleen, Rebecca, no podía imaginar que la tarta de queso duraría tanto tiempo. Durante el almuerzo del sábado, recibí un mensaje de Kathleen con la foto de abajo y el comentario, “¡No es mi culpa, para el registro!”
