From the other side / Del otro lado

La versión español está después de la versión inglés.

A very quick post to tell you all is well. Surgery went better than the surgeon expected. He was here this morning, checked me out and was surprised to find no numbness or weakness. I’m sitting in a chair (a day earlier than expected) and had a good lunch. San Geraldo was here and went home for lunch and a siesta. He’ll be back this evening. I have stories to tell, including about the rubber glove stuffed with Calvin Klein underwear. But for now, don’t worry about me… and thank you for worrying about me!

    1. David,
It’s going better than expected in every way… but I’m still kind of miserable. Of course it’s only the second day.

  1. You tease. A rubber glove stuffed with Calvins, and a complete head-and-face shave – stories I look forward to hearing about!

Glad to hear the surgery went so well. You’ll be out of there in no time, at this rate. Jx

    1. Jon,
Stories will come. A pain to write on my iPad and a pain to write in pain.

    1. Debra,
I couldn’t believe how good I felt the first morning. It didn’t last, but it’s truly going well.

  2. One of the first things I thought of this morning, was checking to see if you posted about your surgery… woo hoo! So glad to hear the good news, and to see your big smile! It’s cool to see you sans beard 🙂

    1. Jennifer,
I didn’t expect to be able to blog from here but it sure passes the time.

    1. Chrissoup,
Thank you for following. I’m kind of miserable still but so grateful for all the good news.

  3. Very Happy to hear all went well. Best Wishes to you and may you return to eating sweets soon. Mazeltov!

    1. Laurent,
I currently have no interest in sweets. Very strange. SG keeps offering to bring me something.

  4. Safe, sound and shaven — glad to hear the surgery went so well! Moose and Dudo will be serenading you again before you know it, LOL!

      1. Mcpersonalspace54,
The beard will make a quick return. That was just for hospital stay.

    1. Tundra Bunny,
I miss those boys! And the stubble is already returning.

  5. Wonderful news!!! I look forward to hearing all about it. Don’t spare us any details!

    1. Kelly,
I’ll wait until I have my computer to type on. Some funny stories.

  6. “rubber glove stuffed with Calvin Klein underwear.” Is this the drugged up post???? You look great already!!!! When is the sponge bath?

    1. Mistress Borghese,
Two sponge baths. Disappointing. The first was a man and a woman who did a great, efficient job. The orderly today wanted to make sure I knew he was straight. He slapped my nuts around so hard and I told him to stop. He clearly didn’t want anyone to think he liked what he was doing. Very rare for a Spanish guy. Although I was drugged Saturday, I still have the rubber glove and underwear, so I know I didn’t imagine it. .

    1. Dinahmow,
It’s a slightly longer story. You’ll have to wait for me to be home.

    1. Michelle Cooper,
So surprised and relieved. I was also surprised at how well I looked at that moment. Facial swelling and sores after that! But it’s all getting better now.

    1. Steve,
A big relief and surprise. The pain has eased. Lot over the course of the day. Still, it can really suck sometimes. But I only just finished Day 2!

    1. Claudia,
Thanks. I caught myself at a good moment. Doing great, but need to have more patience.

    1. Wicked Hamster,
You’ve shared so much worse. You guys are troopers. My perfect experience has been and still is very painful.

    1. Janiejunebug,
I survived! You don’t have to worry any more, although you can probably hear my howls of pain.
