Well, it turns out I AM a perfect a-hole. I had a colonoscopy and even an endoscopy this morning. Yesterday was draining, literally and figuratively. Last night was stressful, as was this morning. Too much on my mind and, having never had these procedures here in Córdoba, not knowing exactly how the process would work or what the experience would be like, I was a bit nervous.
San Geraldo was great company. When I checked in, I needed to sign the release form with an actual pen. There was no pen on the counter, so I grabbed the stylus connected to the reader and then laughed when the staffer noticed what I was about to do. Nerves!
I was taken, right on time, to a private room with a private bathroom, where I changed into a hospital gown and laid down on the bed. A nurse came in, started an IV and covered me with a sheet. I told. him I was grateful because my feet faced the glass wall to the hall and I was struggling to keep my knees together. He got a good laugh out of that. Within minutes, I was wheeled two doors down to a very pleasant room where the procedure took place. I again saw my charming doctor, was introduced to the charming and handsome anesthesiologist, and within moments I was out like a light.
I woke up to a woman’s voice repeatedly calling out, “Me-CHELL. Me-CHELL!” I opened my eyes to see beautiful San Geraldo sitting beside the bed. I was dopey, but quickly came back to life. He said a previous nurse had tried to wake me up to no avail.
Then the doctor came in and told me I had only one tiny polyp. The best results I’ve ever had, and my endoscopy indicated I had very minor gastroenteritis which might sometimes cause me reflux (yes, it does, but I mostly know how to keep that at bay). And that was it. The appointment was at 10 and we were home at 11:35 after a 15-minute taxi-ride home in Friday morning traffic.
Once home I had leftover pizza and my ice cream with chocolate sauce. Probably not the best choices after a complete cleansing, but it’s more than three hours later. And I feel fine. Besides, I’ve got pills. That’s all I’ve got to report today. It’s nearly 3 p.m. and I’m going back to bed. Enjoy yesterday’s shrimp and a close-up video of the zebra nerite snail doing his thing.
Please don’t make me explain the light at the end of the tunnel.
Y me siento bien.

I thought perhaps that first photo was a screen shot of your colonoscopy, LOL! Seriously, glad it went well.
I wrote and lost a comnent in mid word! Anyway, boud is happy it’s over and you’re doing fine. Now you can watch shrimp or whatever those little friends are. Will you need a fish sitter if you go away?
Happy all went well!
What fascinating little creatures these are to observe, I bet.
Now, rest and get back ‘out there’ to record/photograph all the sights that catch your attention.
