Lindy and Matt (our incredible niece-in-law and nephew) have a number of cats. In the past they had many more, maxing out at 13 several years ago. I shared photos and stories when we were in South Dakota in 2016, including a photo of Lindy holding Joey, who loves to be held upside down. (Click here.) Joey is an absolute lover and can’t get enough cuddles and attention. Today’s photo is of Matt and Lindy’s friend Nicole holding Joey. Joey is a very big boy.
Dudo is at top demanding equal time (actually demanding another treat; he doesn’t give a hoot about any American cousins).
Lindy y Matt (nuestra increíble sobrina y sobrino) tienen varios gatos.

I’ve never seen such a huge cat!
Margaret Butterworth:
Check out Norwegian Forest cats or, better yet, Maine Coon cats. Enormous!
That cat is IMMENSE! How much does he weigh, do you know?
Steve:
I THINK he weighs 25 pounds (double the size of Moose).
Dear Goddess, Joey is ginormous!! We had a cat almost that large in Miami named Thomas but even he would look like a wee tom next to that guy!
Then there’s that Dudo Punim and pose! Loverly!
Bob:
Moose is about half Joey’s size. Dudo is lucky he’s so cute.
Joey is a big boy alright. Wondering what Dudo and Moose would think about him competing for their treats?
Jim:
Dudo and Moose would not back down.
Boud here to ask if you’re sure that’s a domestic kitty, not a mellow wildcat, like Hamish MacBeth’s Sonsie?
Boud:
The mellowist wildcat in history.
My gawd, that’s a lotta cat!
Debra:
And all of it sweet.
Lots of (BIG) kitties today! Balm for my soul.
Kelly:
Cats are good therapy, whatever the size.
That is one big kitty.
David:
A teddy bear.
Holeeeeeee cow! That’s a big boy! (Have you ever heard the French expression, “Oh, la vâche!” = “Oh, the cow!”? It’s a kind of equivalent to “holy cow!”… but they also use the expression to refer to someone as “la vâche”, sort of like, “oh, that son of a gun”… or …well… it’s used lots of ways, positive and negative, to express a “wow” sentiment about something or someone, or as a “wow” interjection…. ha! Just thought I’d throw that out there! What does one say en español for this “wow” kind of idea?)
Judy C:
I’d never heard the expression “Oh, la vâche!” Here, they also say “wow” except they usually pronounce it “guau.” A problem with words that start with “W”.
Did Joey eat the rest of the cats?
Deedles:
Well, there are now only 7 and there used to be 13, so maybe!
Is that what they mean by “fat cat”?
Kirk:
They should.
That’s a cat? It’s the size of a Corgi! Jx
Jon:
It is, isn’t it.
I read Joey and thought did the boys get a baby kangaroo?!?!?!?
That cat is HUGE!
That was me above!
Mistress Borghese:
Ooh, baby kangaroos are adorable!
Cats everywhere !
Urspo:
It’s good they can’t speak. I’ve been using some really awful language around them.
That is not a house cat. It is a big-as-a house-cat.
Ms. Moon
Ms. Moon:
Clever!
Joey truly is the most unique cat! Besides being huge, he is really a very special cat! You can’t get enough of him!
Linda
Linda:
He’s a sweetheart. (Good thing, at that size!)
Well, I suppose that my “wow what a big kitty” comment is just another drop in a very big bucket. Pardon me while I look for a better metaphor…
Walt the Fourth:
I’ll wait.
Lucky for Joey’s he’s such a love bug — most people wouldn’t want risk getting a hernia to pick him up! I just hope his caregivers aren’t killing him with kindness by overfeeding him.
Tundra Bunny:
With 13 cats in the house for a long while, I think it was nearly impossible to control diets. Interestingly, only two of the cats looked overfed. The other was Ava (who was smaller than Joey but made him look slim). In Spanish, her name would sound like Abba, so I called Abba the Hut.
Drat ! Blogger at my comment again.
I came by to see the cats and to wish you a happy birthday.
Urspo:
Never too late to see the cats and for a birthday wish. Thanks!
