Honeymoon pajamas / Pijamas de luna de miel

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

We are off like a pair of honeymoon pajamas! We were going to take the commuter train to Málaga’s main train station, María Zambrano, but decided to take a taxi instead. So, less than 20 minutes to Málaga and then 60 minutes to Córdoba on RENFE. Here’s hoping the contract signing goes as planned this evening. We have our doubts and, therefore, some stress. We have already agreed that we’ll walk out if there are any unacceptable surprises. And we’ve agreed on what would be unacceptable. We hope to be pleasantly surprised and write it all off to a less than competent agent. For better or worse, the process will be complete in less than 12 hours. We’re staying overnight at a hotel in Córdoba and will be home Tuesday evening. See you on the other side.

• I wonder how much of this kind of fashion we’ll see in Córdoba.
• Me pregunto cuánta moda de este tipo veremos en Córdoba.
• Another look at the Agricultural Gardens in Córdoba. Monument to Cordoban painter Julio Romero de Torres. He served as the director of the Fine Arts Museum. I’ve seen and admired some of his paintings here in Málaga (click here for an example).

And they’re done so beautifully. I look forward to learning more about him once we move. A local restaurant had a wall of his paintings that I recognized from the style.

  1. Boud wishing you well today. I suspect the wild clothing combos are seaside gear, but I expect you’ll soon find out.

  2. Again, you had me with the first picture. How pretty!!!! Moving woes. My own Uncle was slated to move this Wednesday to Ashville…but the movers said they have no way to get in and out of Ashville at this point as it has been hit extremely hard by Hurricane Helene. No power or phones still. And my cousins still have no idea if their home or the new being building is even still standing. Meanwhile, his whole home is just about empty except for what he is taking with him. We shall see what happens. Thankfully the couple who bought the house are understanding and empathic.

I hope things settle down soon. How awful to be stuck in limbo. And how awful for so many people who lost everything (or enough to make life difficult).

  3. What a wealth of gorgeous photographs! Those dancing women on the ledge are stunning. Women on the verge? And that first photo is magnificent.
Fingers crossed for everything in Cordoba to go smoothly and well.
“We are off like a pair of honeymoon pajamas!” I’d never heard that before but I love it.

    1. Ms. Moonsigh:
A friend of mine in Boston (117 years ago) used to say that all the time — along with Let’s lick this popsicle stand! Thanks for the crossed fingers.

  4. Hopefully it’s a successful done deal by now. 🤞🙏🏼 The flowers in that top photo are a glorious color!

  5. Fantastic! It’s wonderful that you both agree on what to do if things aren’t right, and what “not right” means. Ain’t it grand to know that you are with the right life partner?!

  6. May your move to Cordoba be smooth and stress-free, Scoot! Soon you and SG will have new neighbourhoods to explore — that was always my favourite part of moving to a new place. Will Moose & Dudo be staying with you in the hotel or have you treated them to a cat kennel-spa getaway?

    1. Tundra Bunny:
Now we’re stressing about the mover. And especially about the cats. Moose and Dudo stayed home and Isabel’s daughter Cristina kept them company Monday night. Then Isabel was here for a few hours Tuesday. Still, they’re happy we’re home and they have no idea what’s coming. They’ve never stayed in a cat kennel.

  7. So excited! I can’t wait to hear back from you about how it all went. And of course, we want pictures! 🙂

    1. Michael:
The contract is exactly how we rewrote it. I guess she just wanted us to do HER job.

  8. I am playing catch-up but hope the news is good.
BUT>>>> how can you live without seeing the men’s fashion show ?????????????

    1. parsnip:
I’ll have to come back regularly for fashion updates. Then again, who knows what lies ahead in Córdoba?

    1. Urspo:
I first heard it said by a friend in Boston in 1982. I’ve never heard it since, except when I repeat it.
