A little bit of that / Un poquito de eso

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves today. Well, no I won’t. There are captions.

• With the ugly opaque glass panels removed from the frames. We brought them downstairs yesterday afternoon. Time to sand and paint the railings before the windows are installed.
• I haven’t used my Canon camera in ages. I miss it for zoom, so started using it again. I searched the house for the cord to download the photos to my computer. For hours! I was about to buy a new one when I moved the camera case that was on my desk. What’s that sticking out at left?
• San Geraldo enjoying some potato chips (crisps).
• San Geraldo disfrutando de unas patatas fritas.
• This photo is from December. In preparation for Semana Santa, the wall was painted.
• The neighbors.
• Los vecinos.
• Moose makes us so nervous. He saw me and rolled over to make himself more adorable. I slid him further onto the bed before he rolled himself onto the foor.

  1. Love that floral wall display!
Looks like very relaxed neighbours you have, Mitchell.
    Living/sleeping on the edge, Moose.

    1. Jim:
I, too, love that wall. I need to introduce myself to the neighbors, but I hope they put something on before answering the door. I wouldn’t know where to look.

  2. When I first saw the blank wall, I was so startled! NOOOOOO!
But they made it beautiful again. Okay. That’s fine. Love the pigeon on the bucket in the picture with no flowers.
You absolutely do have interesting neighbors. Very nice statement. Eye catching, I’d say.
Your terrace is going to be so lovely. Moose and Dudo will appreciate it, I’m sure.

    1. Ms. Moon:
I’m really excited about the terrace. That will transform the living room, too.

  3. The terrace will be great for everyone. I bow to your work ethic — sanding and painting, where I might just clean with a damp cloth.. Boud.

    1. Boud:
I’d be more in your camp. I’d talk about sanding and painting but would leave it too ate and end up just cleaning with a damp cloth. SG is the one who jumped at removing the glass. He’s one step closer. Now he has to buy a wire brush, sand paper, and paint.

  4. I can’t imagine the last time I picked up a digital camera. My phone does everything I need it to do.

When I got the iPhone 13 Plus, it replaced my SLR. But the SLR has 40x zoom and the iPhone only has 10x. I do miss that at times.

  5. Seeing that floral wall all spruced up makes me want to see The Courtyards Festival in full swing next week! Jx

    1. Jon:
Everyone here keeps telling me about the Patios of Córdoba. I’ve got schedules. I’ve got routes. I can’t wait.

  6. Seeing that flower wall has given me some great ideas. That would be great to do on the brick wall where the carport is. And again I absolutely love that chair in your living room. And that includes the pillow pattern. I swear when it comes to furnishings you and I must have the same taste

    1. Mistress Borghese:
If you do the carport wall, you’ll have to commission a bronze statue, too. Maybe a naked male gardener? We need some new throw pillows for the living room. Not all the old ones go as well. I’m flattered that you compare our taste to yours!

  7. Looks like you have LGBTQ allies nudists for neighbors. I wouldn’t mind that.

San Geraldo seems to have a phobia about touching potato chips.

    1. Kirk:
SG kept accidentally dropping the chips into the ketchup and then getting ketchup on his fingers. But doesn’t everyone eat potato chips with a fork?

  8. Is that ketchup (catsup) with his potato chips? Personally, I prefer yellow mustard with mine, though as a child I liked putting ketchup on saltines.

  9. Great view. The reason I bought my Nikon DLSR is the lens options, and I continue to use them.

  10. Ohh
Love the neighbors! And there were some opaque glass panels there? Why???

I also have a digital camera. It was a gift someone gave me. I think the last time I charged its battery was like, 2015…?

    XOXO

    1. Sixpence Notthewiser:
When the building went up, all terraces had opaque safety glass panels. My parents’ building had the same (although the glass was blue). Either way, I think it’s ugly. When the technician was here to measure the terrace, he said smoked glass would give more privacy. From what, I wondered. I told him if someone wanted to go to the trouble of setting up a telescope or binoculars, more power to them.

  11. Dudo & Moose are two Krazy Kats, man! I do hope Dudo is feeling better and no longer vomiting.

That freshly painted art installation wall is absolutely beautiful with all the bright flowers restored. And I didn’t realize the bucket was part of the piece til I saw that pigeon perched on it, LOL!

SG’s habit of ketchup on potato chips is understandable. When I was a kid, we used to put extra vinegar in our bags of salt & vinegar chips to make the extra “vinegar-ry”.

    1. Tundra Bunny:
One, the other, or both cats vomit almost daily. In the State, we had one cat who regularly vomited. We had wool rugs! The other never vomited. Go figure. My sister put ketchup on everything. So does SG. Not I. And when it comes to potato chips, I like my unadulterated. And salt and vinegar are as exotic as I’ll go.

    1. finlaygray:
I fell in love with it when I saw the photo and I love it even more now. And SO comfortable.

  12. The neighbors seem fun.
And moose lives life on the edge!
I would have been holding the cord in my hand whilst looking for it!

    1. Bob:
Oh yeah, holding the cord. Like looking for your glasses while wearing them.

  13. Ah! I missed this one yesterday! Silly Moose, what a hoot!
I looooove the fresh white wall with the beautiful pots of flowers being watered, and I’m excited for you to love your terrace even more!

    1. Judy C:
We’re off now to buy tools and paint for the old terrace railing! Can’t wait for the call that they’re coming to install the windows!

    1. Urspo:
Moose is not as quick as he used to be, and we think he has arthritis. Dudo on the other hand, flips so fast we can’t even see it happen.
