Here are photos from our dinner at La Fabbrica with Tynan and Elena. I love the atmosphere; the lightheartedness of the decor; the warm, friendly, seemingly happy staff; and the food. Lucia is our host and server and Jaime is bartender, and so much more. We had such a great time and meal. I never did get any photos of us with Tynan and Elena. Tynan appeared in a couple of photos while they were here, simply because he walked in front of the camera.
We arrived at the city offices at 11:59 to get the final paperwork for our registration with the city and province. I was told there was no need to make an appointment, so I didn’t. We took a number, which also gives you a time. The time was 1:24. I should have made an appointment.
So, we went down the street for coffee and pastries. Then we strolled a bit in the comfortable temperatures. No worries about heatstroke today. And we walked over to El Corte Inglés to browse.
We arrived back at the office around 1:05 and waited until 1:28 to be called. We met with one of the two women who helped us 6 months ago. She remembered us. Her colleague came around the corner to greet us. She remembered us, too. Six months later. I guess we made an impression. It took all of three minutes to receive the two documents we each need to change our address, update our national identity cards, and I can’t think of what else, but we will.
On our way home we stopped for lunch at La Popina. We returned home, tired, around 3:00. Bureaucracy, and witnessing others not handling it well, sure takes it out of a person. After blogging, I might just vegetate the rest of the day.
Y fuimos a El Corte Inglés a curiosear.

Nuestro favorita.

• Tarta de queso dulce de leche.
La Fabbrica shares my vision of decorating completely. Whimsy, whimsy, and more whimsy, throw in some lights, combine things that do not go together, and ignore what anyone else thinks.
And again- that salad looks exactly like what I am craving these days. I can’t seem to get enough salad. I would, however, eat a bite of that cheesecake.
Love…Ms. Moon
Ms. Moon,
Our places used to be more playful, but we left a lot behind when we moved to Spain. I love this look. That salad is currently my favorite salad. And the cheesecake is exceptional. I’d let you have a bite.
You are generous.
You post the most decadent desserts. If I opened a dessert shop that’s what I’d call it. Decadent Desserts. With all kinds of toys for decor. For everyone’s inner kid.
Boud,
There’s a dessert shop in San Diego that we loved, called Extraordinary Desserts. And SG has a chocolate cake recipe called decadent chocolate cake, and it is.
Love, love, love the pig! It’s like looking in a mirror. I totally agree with Ms Moon about the whimsy.
Deedles,
I’ve seen pictures of you and I know you’re beautiful. (Although the lipsticked pig is adorable.)
Eye of the beholder, Scoot, but thanks. That pig is very adorable. So am I for that matter, and humble too!
Deedles:
You, I’m sure, have a lot of admiring beholders! Humbleness is overrated.
I love that decor… It’s no wonder you were attracted to the place and keep going back – let alone the food!
Jx
PS Cordobés at last! Yay!
Jon,
And proud to be Cordobés! La Fabbrica is our kind of place.
I love fun decor like that too. And I would gladly eat every single menu item pictured!
Debra,
And they have delicious and unusual pizzas, too. Feels like home.
“Stay Puft” always reminds me of Bibendum. That cheesecake looks heavenly!
Kelly,
I never knew the Michelin Man had another name!
That IS some very interesting decor. Thank goodness you got the registration done! Whew!
Steve,
And we have no idea why it took 6 months when Sevilla and Fuengirola, both notoriously and inefficiently bureaucratic, do it same day.
What fun pictures and decor, and a Tres leches Cake!!
I’d need a hefty slice after dealing with any kind of bureaucracy; glad yours was somewhat pain-free!
Bob,
At least the people we deal with are always very pleasant.
Are those cocktail glasses next to ms piggy
Finlaygray,
Shot glasses, yes.
So you literally not lipstick on a pig! I love a nice fun quirky atmosphere in a restaurant. And as you’ve probably guessed I love the elephant. Just looking at those desserts went to my back side… I need to squeeze into square Cuts this summer.
Mistress Borghese,
I need something to go to my backside. Not that! I’ve lost weight and muscle and my hind quarters don’t make me as proud as they used to.
Well, that’s a relief that you have the registration paperwork behind you now. Those desserts look heavenly!
Michael,
And today I start making appointments to get everything else done. The desserts would not disappoint you.

Shades of Joseph Heller in that paragraph.
Kirk,
And Joseph Heller would have written it better.
I love browsing in quirky stores — that giraffe chandelier lamp would soooo be going home with me!
Tundra Bunny,
I love the giraffe and so many other things. I’m tempted to start buying quirky, unnecessary things again.
I had a flashback to the amazing cakes and pies in Spain, people think of bakeries in France or Italy – but Spain has amazing and pretty sweets. There was this little shop up a back street from the hotel we stayed in, in Madrid that was heavenly.
David:
As you know, I love dessert.
